About this property
All Season Lake House Hideaway at Mount Sunapee
Enjoy the charm of our unique, hexagonal, cedar lake house! Located on two acres rolling down to Gunnison Lake, nicknamed “The Goshen Ocean,” the setting is tranquil and the view stunning as it sits on the back side of Mount Sunapee,
This house is full of New Hampshire character. On the main floor is the heart of the house, a large, open, bright space that includes a living room; a sunken conversation pit in the center for gathering around the fireplace or having a private chat; an extra-long wooden table for eating, playing cards and doing puzzles all at once; and a recently renovated open kitchen with dishwasher. A mini-split pumping cold air makes this main space with tall windows and sliding glass doors very comfortable in the heat of the Summer. The sliding glass doors lead to a large wraparound deck with a gas grill, picnic table, and plenty of patio furniture for relaxing and taking in the view of the expansive grounds and the trees reflecting on the lake. Two bedrooms with queen beds and a full bath are also located on this level.
Downstairs is a large bedroom with a seating area and both a double and a twin bed; a family room; and a full bathroom with washer & dryer. The family room opens onto a covered patio, peaceful and cool in the summer months, with direct access to the rolling lawn and plenty of outdoor activities: a variety of lawn games; two kayaks and a canoe for paddling or fishing on the lake; swimming; a 3-mile trail around the lake.
The lake house is just 15 minutes from Mount Sunapee Ski Resort and the towns of Newbury and Newport, and 20 minutes from Sunapee Harbor. In addition, trails for trekking up Mount Sunapee or seeing the changing of the leaves around Lake Solitude in the Fall, to name a few, are a short distance from the house. There is ample parking on the two driveways that lead to the house.
Bring your family and friends to this special home and make new memories on The Goshen Ocean!

The most peaceful, serene place we have ever stayed. From the moment we arrived we felt ourselves slow down. This was the perfect place to escape the noise, traffic and pace of everyday life. This is the kind of place that lets you breathe. The house was a delight. It has much more personality and character than the typical vacation rental - that made our stay especially memorable. It felt warm, comfortable and inviting, and we loved its unique charm. The deck, with a view of the lake, was the perfect place for morning coffee and evening lounging. The host provided everything you could have asked for and many things you would not even have thought to ask for. The lake was beautiful and perfect for kayaking. The water was calm and mornings on the lake were a highlight of our stay. The property is beautifully maintained with special touches all around. Highly recommend!!

Hello Joanne, Thank you very much for your kind review, our very first. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and appreciated some of the very things we like about our house and its grounds. Come back soon. Cheers, Lou.
My family and I had an excellent time at this location. There was a lot of space we had 5 adults and 2 children. Our favorite part was the access to the lake and a canoe and kayaks which we used daily. There was lots of wildlife on the lake to see plus a new adventure everyday to explore in the area. We all loved the long table we could complete our puzzle on one end plus eat our meals on the other. We explored Mt Sunapee and several beaches in the area and a bog. We would definitely recommend using the location as well in the fall and winter.
