Welcome to Casa Blanca at Las Catalinas!

Casa Blanca is luxury at its finest. This beautiful, modern oceanfront villa is light and bright and exudes luxury and comfort. The villa is located in the esteemed Calle Cartagena section of Las Catalinas -- an incredible, pedestrian-only gated community.

Just a few steps from the beach, the oceanfront villa features 4 bedrooms, 4 full baths and two half baths over three levels, comfortably sleeps 8 adults plus additional space to sleep 2 children or teenagers in the cozy bunk beds in our extra living room. Casa Blanca has views of the ocean and plaza from every room. The home is spacious and open with high ceilings and natural light throughout.

The main living area features an oversized kitchen, family room, and dining room with two incredible outdoor living areas on both ends. Open the arched French doors leading to the terraces and enjoy the tropical breezes of Costa Rica. One of the terraces features a private plunge pool overlooking the ocean.

The gourmet kitchen includes high-end appliances, quartz countertops and custom wood cabinetry. It is well stocked with the kitchenware and tools to meet the most discerning chef's needs.

On the first level, you will find a separate studio (private entrance), a guest bedroom with a full ensuite bathroom and partial ocean views and a half bath.

The third level of Casa Blanca opens to a living space with bunk room area and a half-bath. It also includes two additional bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathrooms, vaulted ceilings and ocean views.

Every detail of Casa Blanca has been meticulously thought out. From the grand archway at the entrance to the fine fixtures and finishes throughout including furniture, linens and kitchenware from Restoration Hardware, William Sonoma, Pottery Barn and Serena Lily furniture. Our goal is to ensure your stay is one of comfort and luxury.

Amazing stay. Host, concierge and house mom were all great communicators. Perfect location, property is literally 5 steps from the beach club which we didn’t realize until we checked in, and a 2 min walk down the path to the beach or restaurants. Started every day with a hike and came back to an incredible breakfast. House was stocked with all the little stuff as well (towels, beach chairs, games/puzzles). Will visit and stay here again!

Casa Blanca - Las Catalinas

Casa Blanca House is amazing, just as you see in the pictures, with a great location at the Catalinas, close to the beach and beach club. The service from the various staff members is fantastic and makes you feel very comfortable. The rooms are incredibly spacious, and the beds are also very cozy. The kitchen has everything you need, and the BBQ area is an excellent spot for a relaxing evening with friends or family, accompanied by a drink. Definitely a place we will come back to!

The property, though antiseptic and located in an inauthentic Potemkin village with horrifically overpriced food and services, was nice enough. It had a lot of kitchen implements, clean sheets, and an outdoor grill. The property’s owner is wretched, cheap, and conniving.

We had an amazing stay in Casablanca at Las Catalinas. Our group of 10 stayed in this home while another 13 family members stayed nearby, and the setup was perfect for a large family trip.The house is absolutely beautiful and thoughtfully decorated, with a well-stocked kitchen that made cooking easy and enjoyable. The location truly couldn’t be better—just steps from the beach and the pool.Working with Cynthia was a pleasure from start to finish. She was incredibly responsive and patient, answering all of my many questions (probably close to 20! ) quickly and thoroughly, which made planning our stay stress-free.The house mom was very kind and did a wonderful job keeping everything clean. The fresh fruit and guacamole upon check-in were such a delightful and welcoming touch.We especially loved the two outdoor spaces, which were perfect for relaxing, reading, or sneaking in a peaceful afternoon nap. Casa Blanca is a DREAM HOME and experience in Las Catalinas

From the moment we walked into Casa Blanca we were in awe. The home is a dream come true to stay in. Everything from the linens, decor, furniture, cutlery, outdoor lounging, location to ocean, the beds are so comfortable that I actually tried to see what brand mattresses and pillows are so I can purchase at home. The most beautiful villa ever!

When you think of Villa, typically you think of a dark but large and over the top stay. But casa Blanca was so light bright clean and spectacular. I can’t say enough amazing things about it. We’ve been to las Catalina’s before but from now on, we will only stay at Casa Blanca.

The best home we have ever stayed in

Casa Blanca met all of our expectations and beyond. Las Catalinas was such a wonderful spot to vacation, we were able to walk to several different restaurants, shops and the beach was so beautiful for lounging, swimming, and sunset strolls. The daily house keeping service, house mom and house manager were very accommodating. Casa Blanca is such a beautiful home, the decor, the furniture and location to everything in las Catalinas was perfect. We will recommend to family and friends.

I cannot even begin to explain hoe much fun we had staying at Casa Blanca!! The beach club pools were so fun and a minute walk to the beach and the town and I could go on and on! Our group of 5 adults just spent a week at Casa Blanca and couldn’t be more pleased with the house, amenities and graciousness of the hosts. The house is beautiful, bright, airy, very well maintained and fully stocked with all the dishes, appliances, games, etc. that you might need. It is also very close to the beach club and to beautiful Playa Danta beach. Club access is included with the rental. The club has several pools and lounge chairs, a bar and a restaurant, where you can get drinks and very good light food all day. The ceviche in particular was excellent. There are also several restaurants in Las Catalinas within a 5-minute walk. The house also comes with daily housekeeping and a concierge who helped us with several reservations and recommendations for activities such as sailing, horseback riding on the beach and zip lining at the Diamante Eco Adventure Park. Marilyn, the housekeeper was lovely and unobtrusive. She even cooked us a delicious breakfast one morning and did laundry for us. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend Casa Blanca and Las Catalinas.

We love this Villa in Las Catalinas

Not sure what our favorite part of staying at this amazing Villa was, we loved every second. There were sections of the beach club being remodeled so the lap pool was closed but that was no issue for us. The house mom, Merilyn made us amazing welcome snacks upon our arrival and even watched our kiddos so that we could enjoy a relaxing adult evening! The house is decorated to the nines! Well done! We love las Catalinas and Casa. Blanca Villa! Favorite restaurant was Celeste! Favorite thing to do while we were there was paddle board in the teal blue bay.

Unforgettable vacation and home

We are so delighted that we found Casa Blanca to stay at during our visit to Las Catalinas. The home was so comfortable and beautiful. The host, concierge and house mom were so wonderful and helpful and made our stay unforgettable. We literally didn’t want to leave! They currently are remodeling the beach club so two out of three of the clubs were closed, but I’m sure when it’s finished with the remodel it will be even that much better here. Someone told us Feb 2024 is when beach club will be finished. We are already coordinating our next trip back to stay at Casa Blanca. Thank you Coral, Erick and Merilyn!

We are a Couple, married in 2021 and very much in love with each other and Costa Rica. We met in Denver which is Mark’s home. Cynthia is “Tica”, born and raised in the San Jose area.

Mark has had a career in transportation and logistics. Cynthia had a very successful career in banking. Mark is the under educated of the pair with only a couple of Bachelor degrees from Utah. Cynthia has five advanced degrees in business and IT disciplines and was an EVP at Bank of Central America when she agreed to go forth in life with Mark in Colorado. (Is Mark a good salesman?).

We love our life of ranching and skiing in Colorado, quick getaways to our San Diego beach house, and of course, our favorite, Casa Blanca at Las Catalinas.

Mark, in semi retirement, is a part time ski instructor at Vail and a big game outfitter as well.

Cynthia is primary contact for Casa Blanca, knows her homeland exceptionally well and we both look forward to hosting you many times at Casa Blanca and maybe in Vail, San Diego and/or the ranch which is just nine miles from the world famous Broadmoor Hotel.

Las Catalinas has been described as the melding of the Italian Cinque Terre and Colorado’s Vail. We believe that this is a good description.

Las Catalinas, founded in 2008, is a planned community that feels very Mediterranean.

From the time you valet your car and embark with the very accommodating staff in your golf cart with your bags to the door of the magical Casa Blanca, well known as one of the premier Villa’s in the community, you know you’re in for something special and not found anyplace else.

Upon entering and getting settled, with the splash of the surf audible, the ocean views truly breathtaking from the second and third floors and the embracing hospitality of the Casa Blanca staff, you will feel the unique embrace of the community. This is not merely a tourist destination. Over 25% of Las Catalinas are full time residents. You will understand that you are joining something special.

You are 150’ from the beach, 40’ to the incomparable Beach Club and a comfortable five minute walk to village center where you will find five or six excellent restaurants ranging from Italian to Portuguese/Asian fusion. Further is a truly extraordinary store called Copper and Iron which may be the most unique convenience store you’ve ever encountered with a unique mix of high quality meats, deli, wines and general staples.

The community is professionally, but unobtrusively, patrolled. The full time residents have a comfort level with children on bikes and skates exploring the community, without adult supervision, something rarely seen anyplace on the planet.

You and your loved ones and close friends will feel a similar level of comfort and security which is truly unparalleled.

Yet, with all of this, you are within 30 minutes of world class golf, marina facilities and some truly unique Costa Rican experiences……truly the best of all worlds.

We are so pleased to have largely repeat guests. When you have experienced Las Catalinas, you will return.

What makes this property unique

The entry is inviting. Casa Blanca is one of a very few ocean front properties with immediate access to the Beach Club and the permeating sounds of the ocean surf which is only 150’ away. The two first floor suites are self sustaining with attached baths and, in one case, an efficiency kitchen and separate entrance. A short stroll up the first stairs will pass one of two half baths (there are six baths total) and enter the open concept kitchen which seats a dozen people very easily. To your right is a covered deck with a wonderful view of the plaza and to your left is a dining and living area which is a gateway to the plunge pool deck and outside grill area. This patio affords wonderful ocean views and the constant audio of slapping waves.

Going up another floor, you’ll find a common area with another half bath and a really nice bunk area ideal for kids but large enough for another couple who drew the short straw for the fifth bedroom (smile here). Hey, even the view from this area is incredible. There are two more bedrooms to include a guest suite on your right, again with an ensuite bath and fantastic views of the plaza, ocean and Beach Club. To your left you’ll find the master suite with awesome ocean views from every window including the shower.

Climate control is individually controlled in every suite to include the bunk area.

The furnishings, cookware, plates and cutlery are the finest from Restoration, Pottery Barn, Sachs and other high quality vendors. The sheets, bedding and towels are of the finest caliber. You will be impressed.

Casa Blanca was built and furnished to our high standards. No detail has been overlooked.

Few properties are better located. There are only a dozen ocean front properties in Las Catalinas. Ocean front properties are, in general, rare in Costa Rica. We share this ocean view with only one other property.

You will rarely find a rental property as well maintained and appointed. This is unique.
