Beautiful cabin in a special place
Exceeded expectations. Beautiful cabin. Just the right amount of space for my family. Great natural lighting. Great location. Super clean and complete kitchen. Highly recommended.
Especially enjoyed the peace and quiet of just being at the cabin. Beautiful stars at night (saw multiple shooting stars). Saw deer walk up nearby.
Shenandoah valley is beautiful. Beautiful farms and country roads. Overall great experience especially for family bonding.
Cozy Cabin! Quiet and relaxing!
We had a nice stay at this cozy cabin in bucolic Shenandoah. The cabin was clean and comfortable. It had all we needed to cook in terms of pots and pans. Bring your own charcoal and fire starter for the grill. On the map it's very close to Shenandoah National Park, but to actually get into the Park it takes about 30 mins and to get to a visitors center it's about 50 mins. This was fine for us as it's a beautiful drive into the park. This cabin is also in a neighborhood. I think we anticipated it to be a bit more secluded but it's surrounded by farms on all sides. It's really beautiful and the neighbors were very friendly with us. They would drive by and wave and smile. We were in the park most of the day, so it worked great for us. We felt safe and relaxed the whole time. My only suggestion is for some patio furniture for the back deck with an umbrella. It's so pretty out there, but we really couldn't enjoy it because it was 90+ degrees and there was no shade. Overall we had a nice stay!
The Best Cabin We have stained ever!
Wonderful, spacious and clean cabin in the country with everything you need to enjoy live on your vacation. I love the nice decorated interiors with many Chines and crystal glass vases. The back yard is big and shady, you can enjoy the mountains’ view from the porch, listening to the singing birds, watching many wild rabbits and even friendly cats!)) and observing the milky-way at night.s. This place is perfect for people who like serenity, nature and country landscapes and who would like to escape from civilization. This cabin is perfectly located close to Shenandoah NP to explore it from north to south. Thank you Dave ( the owner) for letting us to rent your amazing cabin!
Nice cabin. Odd neighborhood.
The cabin itself is very nice. It was clean. Nicely laid out. Comfortable furniture. Reasonably well stocked kitchen. The cabin does not come with bath soap. Bring your own. There were two tablets of dishwasher detergent for our 4 night stay. We had to go out and buy some. It has a Weber grill. Bring your own charcoal, lighter fluid, and matches. You will find none in the cabin. The location is a bit odd. It sits on a gravel road about 30 minutes from the park. The river is very nearby, but there is no access for fishing or canoeing other than public boat ramps that are about 10-15 minutes drive away. The street has a sign warning about electronic monitoring. The overall feel in the neighborhood is not very welcoming. It just struck us as a bit odd for a vacation getaway. The A/C did not work. We discovered this on a hot Saturday afternoon. The property manager said he could maybe get his HVAC guy out on Sunday, but it was the weekend after all. I tried everything reasonable to get it working but couldn't. So I emailed him that we would be fine until we left Monday morning. The nights eventually cooled off, but still... It has a second BR with bunk beds. But if you have kids, bring games and entertainment. There are none to be found in the cabin. For the right renters, this is a nice place to stay. Not sure we would go back, however.
