This was my family's favourite place in Newfoundland during our 2 week trip. It is perfectly placed, you're only a few km away from the best of Bonavista. Fantastic view from the backyard, too. Luke was a pleasure to interact with, and you could tell he takes pride in the property. Can't say enough good things about our stay, would return in a heartbeat.
Loved walking on the rocks and watching the sunset from the fire pit. They thought of everything to make it a memorable stay including blankets for the fire pit. Very easy walk into town for dinner from this location
Everything was great, only issue fry pans in the stove drawer should be replaced and you should have at least local channels on the tv. I did use Netflix but had to log into my own account. Location was amazing along with everything else. I would definitely stay again.
My friend and I stayed in 3 different properties across NL and this was by far our favorite! The house is super clean and cozy. The host (Luke) even had wine and chocolate waiting for us upon arrival! Being right on the water was such a treat. It was really fun walking around and exploring the neighborhood in the evenings. Communication with Luke was 10/10. He was super helpful and every question I had was answered within minutes. I really appreciate that Luke shared his home with us and if you’re contemplating a stay here I’d say go for it!
host was very responsive to any questions, great view, close to everything (stores, restaurants and attracctions), well appointed, clean house - couldn't have asked for more!
upstairs is not for really tall people
I cannot put into words how much we loved our stay at this house! The view from the backyard was unbeatable! Watching the whales at sunset was an unforgettable experience! Our host, Luke, was amazing and super helpful! The check-in process was seamless. The wine and chocolates were a pleasant surprise. There was tea and coffee along with spices and oils in the kitchen. I loved loved how they used local soaps and shampoos. It’s a great way of advertising local products…I even went home with some soaps from that local shop.Luke had also left a book with places to visit and restaurants to eat at in the area. He had even gone a step further and put down the places that were preferred/recommended!I didn’t want to leave, but I will definitely be back!!!
We stayed here 2 nights and wished we could stay longer. The house was exactly as listed and there were no surprises! The view is spectacular..right on the water and we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon happy hour sitting in the yard overlooking the ocean. Luke and Mark were quick to respond and easy to work with…thanks so much for the treats you left us..we thoroughly enjoyed them. We would definitely return
Beautiful! We really enjoyed staying at Oceanside. Everything was supplied, it was very clean and comfortable. Loved the view, and the chocolate and wine was a bonus.
A really great home with everything you could need to make your getaway enjoyable. Bed was comfortable and we couldn’t ask for a better location. Literally steps from the ocean. Amazing views, gorgeous sunsets and we were able to see whales from the backyard. The bottle of wine and chocolates was a nice touch! We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay and would highly recommend.
A beautiful, comfortable home right on the ocean, with 2 icebergs waiting to greet us. Who could ask for more! The home is close to restaurants, the historic area and groceries. With the breeze off the ocean we could not use the fire pit but did enjoy watching the Newfoundland sunsets from the comfy chairs. Definitely worth the stay!
A fantastic visit to Bonavista, this property was outstanding with breathtaking views of the ocean, during our visit we were treated to several icebergs lingering off shore which we admired daily with our morning coffee and in the evening with a spectacular set.So much thought was put into the little details of the home including the welcome gift.
This property was amazing! The back yard is on the ocean, we enjoyed a lovely firepit and view with the soundtrack of crashing waves. The house was clean and modern and equipped for our family. A short walk into town for restaurants and a short drive to the boat docks for excursions. We cannot wait to return and have already been recommending this property to friends.Thank you very much!
Stayed for 2 nights in January. House was as described, clean and staples are there so only needed to bring food. Adjacent to ocean and nice fire pit sitting area overlooking the oceanside. Host communicated throughout and no issues whatsoever.
Conveniently close to everything in town, this cute, renovated, historical property right on the water was the perfect place for two couples to get away. The entire home was exceptionally clean, there were plenty of towels, linens as well as spices, condiments, coffee and tea. Mark and Luke were accommodating and responsive and the welcome gift was most thoughtful.
We were really impressed with the care and attention to detail taken with this property. The owners have clearly spent time refurbing this home and have added nice amenities, my favorite being the fire pit and chairs to sit by the ocean. It’s in a great location and Bonavista was a great town for guests.
This was an amazing property. We were completely at home with everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable and we loved the decor. To have fresh sea air every day and a lovely view was a bonus! The fire pit was lovely and the dry wood was great!
This wasn’t our first time to Bonavista but this accommodation was much nicer than our last ‘motel-type’ spot a couple of years ago. So clean and cozy and well equipped! Luke and Mark were very gracious hosts and quick to help when the site was down that I had relied on logging into to gain access to the house. Thanks to another friendly neighbour who had a phone number for Luke and called him on our behalf. We were in the area to visit Trinity but also, primarily, we wanted to go back to Elliston to see the puffin and to the Skerwink Trail. Made it to both spots plus had some fine chowder at The Puffin Cafe. A very windy but photogenic visit to the Cape Bonavista Lighthouse capped our full day yesterday. Sadly, our two night stay was over and we headed out for the St Lawrence area this morning.
