About this property
Storybook Farmhouse in the Woods
A whimsical farmhouse is nestled on 5 wooded acres with two small creeks. Surrounded by a tranquil forest, this one and a half story fairy-tale cottage is truly magical. Relax and unwind on the front and back porches.
Whether you want a private romantic getaway, gathering with friends, or a place where kids can roast marshmallows and explore nature, it's the perfect space for all ages.
The house is a twenty minute drive to downtown Asheville and only five minutes from the grocery store. We are tucked away on a five-acre private forest with two creeks running through it, outside Asheville city limits, but still close to everything! Minutes away from the French Broad river and only a 20 minute drive into downtown Asheville and Weaverville. The yard is a shared space. Feel free to use the fire pit and bring a hammock to hang from the trees.
The farmhouse is an original design and brand new construction completed in 2025. Owner lives on site. You'll have the entire house to yourselves, except for the basement which is locked.
The attic bedroom can be accessed through the library's hidden bookcase door! Be careful to open and close the door slowly so as not to knock anything off the shelves.
The forest is yours to explore! Bears do visit the area so be careful when out in the woods. There are also deer and wild turkeys along with various other wildlife that pass through the area. There's poison ivy in the forest, hike at your own risk. There are two creeks that run through the property, both are around 3 feet wide and only inches deep. They make beautiful sounds. There's some fencing along the borders of the property, but most of the land is not fenced. If you want to explore, please review the areal photo to get an idea where the boundaries are. The fire pit next to the house is reserved for your use only.
The main floor and attic bedroom are all yours. The owner’s private storage area and office is in the basement, and it's locked up and off limits. The 5 acre forest is a shared space, but you have your own private fire pit. The tiny house is private, but feel free to walk around the outside.
The gravel driveway is steep and winding. Don't stop on an incline. You don't need 4-wheel drive to navigate the driveway, but you do need momentum to get up hill.
The wood stove is not available for guest use. Artificial, flickering flame candles that can be turned on and off with a remote are next to the stove for ambiance. No fires are allowed in the house. Feel free to enjoy a fire outside in the fire pit.
