We had a group of 16 people (6 families) to celebrate 70th birthdays. The Muskie Lodge was absolutely perfect for our crew! We especially enjoyed the onsite bar and game room and complimentary jukebox! There was plenty of space and everyone slept well. The kitchen / dining room setup was great to feed a large group. The lake view and access was perfect for our group of fisherman and we rented a pontoon up stream at the Tomahawk Resort so did some cruising around the lake and fishing by the bridge. We took advantage of the kayaks/canoe and enjoyed evening campfires. There are several nearby bars which we popped into and also did a little shopping downtown Tomahawk. Overall we had a blast and hope to return again!

Love this place; great communication
As described, this place captures that northern woods vibe. Family and kids love it here.
The Muskie River lodge is perfect for large family gatherings. There are enough bedrooms and bathrooms, large dining room and great kitchen. The bar and game room in the basement is a hit with kids and adults. This is our second Christmas in January celebration here and we are booked for next year. The wild rivers property management team is fantastic. The lodge was clean and well stocked. They are great to work with and very responsive.
The lodge has a lot of rustic charm!
This is our 5th stay at this property. It works perfect for our large family.

NYE get-together
Lots of favorites about this place - the number of bedrooms, the large gathering spaces, the little alcove spaces to sit and read or have a quiet conversation. But I think the most appreciated thing (which, honestly, not a lot of rentals have to offer) is a kitchen that's as well-equipped and well-stocked as this one! We were able to cook amazing food for a group of 19 and actually had enough stovetop, cookware, and utensils - that's no small feat. There was also enough plate-ware, glasses, and serving bowls that we didn't have to use paper plates and disposable cutlery! It was a delightful and restful stay in the beautiful, snowy northwoods.

Perfect Spot
This place is classic up north Wisconsin. Older building with a lot of charm but still has all the amenities. The people who run it are very nice and are on the ball when it comes to special accommodations. I've rented many places on VRBO over the years and they are some of the nicest people I have rented from.

Spacious Fun Stay
This was our 2nd year staying at the Musky River Lodge. The abundance of bedrooms with comfortable beds AND the plenty of bathrooms is great for our group. We stay with a group of family’s with baby’s or young kids and the large spaces are great for us to spread out and hang out. Highly recommend staying at the Lodge.

Large family gatherings
The Muskie River Lodge is large property capable of hosting many people comfortably. During our stay we had 25+ people including two infants through out the week. We had plenty of room and never felt crowded. The large main room is great for meals, card and games, separate tv room and front sitting area. Great kitchen that is fully stocked (two refrigerators in kitchen plus one freeze, two refrigerators downstairs). Easy to make meals for our big group. The game room and bar downstairs is great for watching a game and is a lifesaver for raining days.
Loved the old style jukebox. Has two shuffle boards, a pool table, ping pong table, dartboard and foosball. Separate bar area is fun place to sit and visit with feel a a real pub.
This is an older facility but kept in excellent condition, very clean and kitchen is well supplied, comfortable beds, plenty of towels. Washer and drier on main level is a big plus. Paddle boat and Kayaks are available.
Few downsides. First are the docks to moar boats are not in good condition. The posts are too short and you there is a risk of damaging your boat without excessive side buoys. Wish docks could be improved as the lake access is great. Second is the number of steep steps in the house and in the front. We did have our 90 year old mother with us and just had to watch her to navigate in and out of the house and outside but she had the one bedroom in the main floor and was fine once in side. Third is the lake it self and I really wouldn’t call this a downside but just a word of caution. Lake Alice is a reservoir, part of Wisconsin River, that has multiple stump fields. Great for fishing but bad for boats going at high speeds. Plenty of areas for water sports in main channel downstream of The Musky River Lodge in main lake but recommend having a good electronic lake map. Use just some common sense when boating and be aware of submerge stumps.
This is our second year back and would recommend The Muskie River Lodge. Thanks to the staff for taking such great care of the place.

This place had everything to keep 25 people entertained during a rainy week.
This place is huge with lots of things to do inside during our visit. It rained all but 2 days during our week so having a big bar/ game room really saved our trip.
This area has lots of options for good food, golf, bowling, shops, fishing.
Our host Amy was great to work with and responded quickly.
Highly recommend this place for anyone with a large group.

Wonderful week spent with family at the spacious Muskie River Lodge!
This historic lodge is filled with so much character in a beautiful “Up north” setting. Our family loved the spaciousness for our large group. We were able to prepare meals and dine together, play games, sit around the campfire, fish, and visit places nearby for golfing, the zoo, shopping, etc. We had so much fun using the game room in the basement for shuffleboard tournaments, ping pong, pool and air hockey. Even pinball on the video machine! Thanks for being such a great host!

Great stay at a wonderful place!
Muskie River Lodge is a gem! Our large group returns every year we love it so much. The house is spacious & beautiful. It is a mix of historic rustic-like features with a touch of beautiful upgrades. The amenities are plentiful with kayaks, a Paddle boat, fire pit, kids play park, etc. The basement is the best with a full blown game arcade style room with adjoining bar area. It’s a great hang out area & very sound proof to the upstairs bedrooms. We already can’t wait until next year!!

Annual Weekend Getaway
I booked this home for me and 10 buddies.
We do an annual motorcycle trip so its always hard to find accommodations for a larger group in an area that we actually want to ride around in.
This house was perfect for a larger group. Lots of space, grills, and basement bar with ice machine. We stayed for 3 nights and I would definitely rent again if we where back up in this area.
Thanks again for everything! We had a great time!
