The house is in a beautiful area where you can hike and is close to the water. The house is very spacious for big families. A lot of the contents of the inside are dated but it was retro charming. Though a hot tub was listed as an amenity, it is a bathtub in the master bedroom. We were there for Christmas and the fireplace ended up not being in service. Property management was very responsive to issues that popped up during our stay. Overall very good experience.
We enjoyed the large space for grandkids to play and the screened in porch to relax and enjoy the quiet. Owner was very responsive to minor maintenance request.
We had a very nice stay. The house is as pictured and described. It is well stocked for cooking, etc. The beds are reasonably comfortable. We had trouble with the hot water keeping up, but the property manager was very quick to reply and fix the issue. Overall would recommend.
The family used my cottage for beach, eating etc so they didn’t take advantage of hiking, fire pit etc. next time would like to stay longer to enjoy all that . They liked the accommodations and large spaces
This place is really be perfect for two large families or three small families. We loved that it was peacefully tucked away in the woods and still walkable to the beach. Such a relaxing place to get away to and plenty of space for the kids to roam!
I booked this place for my wedding weekend for some out of town guests. The property was awesome! Great outdoor space with a fire pit, cool vintage feel, and great location if you plan to rent a boat across the street!
We had a wonderful time at this property. We were 11 people and we had room to spare. Lots of spots to gather with everyone. We loved the backyard firepit!

Our family representing five states gathered in Holland, MI and enjoyed our stay in this home. It provided plenty of space and many gathering spots for all of us.
We were in Holland for a graduation, and family and friends joined for the celebration. The house worked out very well for us because of its spacious size, plenty of parking, and lots of beds. The house was stocked with everything we needed and more. The trees and creek provided a very nice outdoor atmosphere. Everyone in our party enjoyed their stay.
We stayed at this this lovely home over a four day weekend. It was absolutely stunning. It was immaculately clean, spacious, and so unique! The master suite was beautiful. The windows and the views on every side were spectacular. There is a creek in a beautiful hiking trail right off the side of the property. Holland is a great place for a vacation. This rental home is probably the best we have ever rented. We can’t wait to come back!

Thanks for the wonderful review and I am glad that you had a great vacation! The exterior painting of the home is nearly completed and it is looking very nice. Just let me know when you would like to return for your next vacation.
Thank you,
Wade
We were needing a place to stay close to Saugatuck(hometown) so that my family could come and join us from the other side of the state and Ohio. We had five grandchildren who were aged from young teens to eight years old. The house was perfect in that everyone had their own space but the communal spaces were many and big enough. The teens loved the shuffle board, basketball, ping pong and all the board games. The adults loved the privacy (and the nearness of the lake and Wiersma’s which we all remembered from when we were kids)! Thank you, Wade, for having such a great place to meet up!

Great time with friends and family. Good sleeping arrangements. Plenty of games and toys for rainy days. Plenty of fire wood for fire pit.
Nice having parking spot to private beach. Walk is just under 1/2 mile from parking to beach. Property staff allowed us to drop off our stuff and most folks so it was not bad.
Minor quirks, like blower on grill did not work. Had to get our own ping pong balls. Steps to garage were a little precarious.
I would recommend this for others!
We thoroughly enjoyed this wooded, creek side home in Macatawa! It was a perfect place to relax and enjoy a peaceful getaway. Upon arrival, we unwound by the creek and surrounding nature with a 1 mile trail loop walk. Then we ate dinner at New Holland Brewing Company and enjoyed a bonfire. Friday was spend at Watertrail Ventures for some canoeing and kayaking. It was great taking a break from the daily routine and take in the serene environment. We walked to the private beach which is .8 miles from the house. If you enter 2432 Valley Dr into your GPS, it will safely navigate you to the beach without getting harrassed. The locals we interacted with were actually very friendly! We also spent a day at Laketown Beach which is very nice, but no where near the size of the private beach this property offers. It's for sure worth the walk! There is a gravel parking lot you can drive to as well which would cut your walk time by at least half. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would highly recommend and consider staying here again!

We were in town for a family gathering with family from Detroit area and Houston Texas. House hit all the boxes. Great screened in porch to contain kids and enjoy nightly card games, great gathering areas with living room and family/combined kitchen area. Grill for summer cooking just off the kitchen. Washer and Dryer for those who needed it and large garage and front entrance with ping pong and plenty of parking. We brought lots of yard games and this yard did not disappoint - played whiffle ball, corn hole and kan jam that we brought- Horse shoes, basketball and ping pong that were provided. Great outdoor fire pit area with plenty of wood - we brought our outdoor theater and had great movie nights with smores and the big screen. Plenty of bathrooms for a large group and 6 separate rooms for sleeping. Cooking supplies provided in stocked kitchen. Walking paths and bike paths too. You can get to lake Michigan through a path that is outlined for you - and Lake Macatawa - Eldean marina is just across the street where you can rent a boat slip if needed. Short drive to downtown Holland as well. Great location if you have a family or friend gathering - we would come back !

We had a great time at Sanctuary Woods house. Wade took very good care of us, letting us know that power was out on our drive in, so we didn't stop and buy groceries. We arrived in rain storm so it was great to have garage to unload the cars. Wade then came over with a cooler full of ice and cold drinks and flashlights for us, He also gave us cash to go out for dinner that night! Shortly after we arrived they got a generator going so we had a refrigerator, a few lights and most importantly - water.! The house in on a well. The house was certainly large enough for all of us, 8 adults and 4 children. The kids especially enjoyed their bunk room (ad the flashlights they got to use the first night!) It was a little stuffy the first night, because the sliding doors in the bedrooms don't really work. We got power late the next morning and it was a great stay. We lived on the screened in porch and enjoyed the fire pit a couple of nights. The private Macatawa Beach is really nice. We took advantage of the kayaks. The association will let you drive in and drop your gear closer to the beach, then you can park in your designated parking spot. The kids also enjoyed the toys that were left there, balls, yard games etc. I would recommend it to a family that isn't averse with walking to the beach and it's a short drive to activities in Holland and Saugutuck.

Good experience. House layout was good for family activities. Back yard was fun play area for children. Beach access was a challenge. Would likely return.
We loved staying at this home. Spacious, plenty of activities, and management was excellent and incredibly responsive. We did have several issues with local residents while attending the private section of Lake Michigan beach associated with the property, and chose to attend other local beaches for the remainder of our stay.
