About the host
Hosted by Pamela Kay Bass
Owner Pam Bass, retired from a 45 year career with Delta Air Lines as a flight attendant. Having stayed in thousands of hotels during that time, she know what guests like...... clean, comfortable, cool, quiet, and in a good location. Island Central 31 is just that, in the center of the island and located close to everything! Stroll 6 short blocks up to the seawall to catch the sunset, go to the beach, rent surreys, golf carts and bicycles and eat at some wonderful restaurants.
Pam hopes you will enjoy your visit just as much as she loves living in Galveston. Fond memories of family vacations as a child, as well as the mild climate and nearby doctors and hospital (University of Texas Medical Branch) are a few of the reasons, she chose to retire in Galveston. You would be surprised at how many people who were not born on the island, come back to live as a result of pleasant childhood memories. Restaurants and entertainment year 'round make it a nice place to live.
Pam has been a licensed Texas Real Estate Broker since 1986. Graduated from University of Texas Arlington with a degree in Political Science and Business Administration.
Grew up on a cattle ranch in the small northeast Texas town of DeKalb near Texarkana.

Why they chose this property
Location, location, location!!! Owner, Pam Bass, lives on the island and close to the property, available to answer questions or concerns and take care of issues that may arise.
Close to restaurants, attractions, fishing, and of course, the Gulf of Mexico. The cool nightly breezes are a plus all year long. The recently widened beach adds more area for you to stretch out. Big beach umbrellas and chairs are available to rent at the beach for the day.

What makes this property unique
I chose to purchase this home because of the Victorian Galveston look. It reminds me of the houses in San Francisco, with cable cars running in front of them, that you see in movies. I liked the hardwood floors, high ceilings and close to the beach without being right on the beach. I think the house was built around 1903, but not sure.
The fairly new central AC and heat work great. The plantation shutters, provide natural sunlight, or you can darken the rooms for a quiet, cool rest.
