About this property
Come to the safest place and most private places in the USA.
This "south of the highway" estate is located in Village of Sagaponack, the jewel in the crown of the Hamptons. Open farm fields, beautiful estates and the best of the Atlantic Ocean beaches. In this compound, the architect designed central house is modeled after the 18th century houses along Sagg Main Street. The main houses combined have 8 ensuite bedrooms including 3 master suites with large marble baths and wood burning fire places. Separate studio/pool house with wet bar, fireplace, bath, bed and living rooms. The main houses contain a large Chef's kitchen with mahogany and marble counter tops and stainless steel appliances. Other public rooms include formal dinning room, living room, grand stair hall, library, two large family rooms (one with regulation pool table), family breakfast room, mezzanine card room with private deck overlooking the grounds, butler's pantry with wet bar, exercise room and large wine cellar/tasting room. Also, laundry and mechanical areas/rooms. All building are are centrally air-conditioned and heated and equipped with large flat screen TVs, wireless internet and Sonos sound system. The floors are wide-plank quarter-sawn white oak or marble.
The cathedral ceiling pool house/studio has living room with fire place, bedroom, wet bar, marble bath and large mahogany deck and outdoor shower. Blue stone patio and deck surrounds a 20' x 50' heated gunite pool with flowering plants and majestic row of crepe myrtles. The original house has a classic columned rear porch with mahogany floors, wicker furniture and a swing. Cook on an outdoor grill on the blue stone patio off the living room, dining room and kitchen equipped with tables and chairs. Enjoy an abundance of flowers in bloom in ever direction from a house and pool house with dozens of large windows and French doors.
The property is a series of inerlocking gardens (including a vegetable garden), an orchard and rolling lawns hidden behind dense 20 foot tall hedges (the real defining element of the Hamptons). Only minutes down a beautiful farm field road are the wonderful beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. There are no guest houses, hotels or "share" houses in the Village of Sagaponack (and very few in the entire area) so the beaches are left to those owning or renting private single family homes here. At the compound, there is over an acre under fence (and a special toddler pool fence if you need it) so pets are welcome within reason.
The compound is fully equipped with everything you and your family will need for the perfect Hamptons vacation. Hotel quality professionally finished linens and towels are by Matouk and Frette. Quality cook wear, cutlery, china and glass ware fill the kitchen and butler's pantry. The house is our real home with art, antiques, rugs and furniture collected over a life time of travel and living in New York City, Washington, Atlanta and the Hamptons.
We have rented the house during the Hamptons season - Memorial Day to Labor Day - since the central house was completed in 2008, primarily to families with children. Often there will be three generations ranging from grandparents to babes in arms. The towns and hamlets of the Hamptons, including the Village of Sagaponack, do not allow short term rentals or to rentals to groups of not related to each other or so called “shares." We are allowed to have two, two-week rentals within the season and the remainder must be 30 day rentals. You will find this property as warm and comfortable and welcoming as any fine 5 star hotel anywhere in the world.
Grounds keepers, maid service and chefs are available on request. And, you couldn't be more centrally located in the world famous "South of the Highway" Hamptons.

About the host
Hosted by Jame M. Brasher III
I am a retired executive who has traveled through out the world (107 counties) and worked with some of the most influential and interesting people on earth in the fields of health, development, human rights and politics. This house is among 32 that I have owned, built and/or restored. It reflects some of the best features of the many places that I have owned or visited. It is our second home in the Hamptons and many say it epitomizes this singular haven for quite enjoyment of the sea and nature. Designed by my Architect spouse, the house is private, warm, comfortable, charming and quietly elegant. We love people and the house is often filled with interesting friends who love it as dearly as we do. I have been lucky to have been a guest in many different beautiful (and sometimes historic) private residences around the world in my life of travel; I have made note of what makes the best of these home really work. We have tried to incorporate those features in this house.
I am a lover of homes, art, people and the things that make life worth living. Some of the most discriminating vacationers have chosen our house for stays of over 3 months through the years. We know that they could have had any home they wanted and are so happy that they chose our property for precious time with their families and friends.

Why they chose this property
It is a real Hamptons estate compound with connected houses, lush gardens, beautiful pool and separate pool house/studio. It is hidden from view by 20' hedges all the way around. It takes us just a few minutes to be on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Some of the nicest and well known people from the arts, business and government make Sagaponack their county home. There are wonderful public and private gardens to visit, markets located on the land where the vegetables are raised along the the streets, vineyards, seafood shops that stock the local catch, food stores - all within 5 minutes or less from of your front door.
What makes this property unique
Coming to the Hamptons and spending a month or more in one of the private estate properties here has been a tradition for many prominent New Yorkers for decades. More and more we are having families from other US Cities or from abroad joining us here as well. You will feel like you belong to the so called "summer colony" when you rent our home in this magical place.
