Perfect little getaway! The cabin was cozy, clean, and so peaceful. Everything we needed was there, and the views were beautiful. We left feeling relaxed and can’t wait to come back!
Incredible getaway, host was so accommodating and very responsive! Home was amazing and great for getting away from all the noise for a weekend. Would absolutely stay again.
The cabin is great, quiet area and close to so much great hiking. Shane was a great communicator and helped me out big time when I forgot something. A, I would definitely rent this cabin again.
We had a great time. The cabin was perfect. Everything worked great and was easy to figure out. My family of 4 had an excellent time and would recommend this cabin.
Cabin was perfect for our anniversary weekend! Spent nights out by the fire pit and loved having a hot tub. This cabin truly felt like our home away from home. The host was excellent and very polite to work with. Definitely adding this place to our favorite places to stay in the gorge!
This was the most beautiful cabin we have ever stayed in! Everything was clean and the kitchen is well stocked with essentials. We had the most relaxing last minute getaway. Shane checked on us several times to assure our stay was great. The cabin is very peaceful and the huge windows accentuate the outdoor beauty making you feel part of the forest.
I was extremely impressed with our whole experience. Communication was the host was clear. The home was very clean and comfortable. Our two teenage boys loved the loft space and our beds were very comfortable. Even our dog felt right at home. Very close to all the trails we wanted to hike. Don’t hesitate to book this property.
Our stay was absolutely amazing! The cabin was beautiful, new and very clean. Our host Shane was easy and quick to communicate with. Lots of windows, natural light and the amenities, hot tub, fire pit was fun and relaxing to use. The location is perfect, very close to trails and everything Red River Gorge has to offer, we’ll stay at this location again. You definitely need 4 wheel drive to get up the hill though! Highly recommend!
We loved our stay and would 100% stay again. We slept in the upstairs bedroom. I loved waking up and seeing the trees right outside the big windows. It felt like you were sleeping in a fancy treehouse. The house felt close to everything with only a 15 min drive. The kitchen was great and had everything we needed. The hot tub was my favorite part it was clean and hot. The fire pit was well maintained and had path lights that were great in the dark. I had a question before we left for our trip and the host replied to my message in 15 min. We had zero complaints.
The cabin is exceptional to say the least. Inside feels so homey, and was perfect for a couples weekend. The drive up can be daunting but afterwards you’ll have stories to tell. 2wd car did make it up pretty easy in perfect dry conditions anything else or not used to steep stone inclines definitely 4wd The property itself is well maintained, clean, and setup perfectly. Was a bit closer to other cabins than expected, but the neighbors were all respectful and quiet. Inside is all brand new and gorgeous. Was by far my favorite vacation we’ve taken so far. We will be visiting again!
Awesome new property, nicely furnished and well supplied. Secluded location, yet neighbors are within earshot if necessary. As remote as it is, it’s hard to believe there is city water and power plus internet service; you’re even in cellular range. Unique design with a great upstairs loft/living area as the master bedroom, 16 steps up. Modest size downstairs (only) bath. Please believe the host when he tells you a 4WD vehicle is needed to reach the property! Can’t imagine a rear wheel drive would get you there even in perfect weather. Great, quick communication from the host!
The cabin was beautiful. The hot tub was great. Fire pit was very nice. We love the view. The road was formidable and not recommended for the faint of heart. The biggest problem was that the beautiful upstairs loft with all of those great windows did not have any curtains, so it was hard to sleep with lights nearby and early morning light. Also, it was difficult to undress without being seen.

About the host
Hosted by Shane O'Donley
Born and bred in Kentucky. I currently live about an hour from the gorge. After working 25 years in healthcare I decided to pivot to hospitality and started building cabins in the Gorge. I'm currently a STR specific realtor which means I only work with investors looking to acquire short term rentals in the Gorge or on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
The best part of being a host is knowing you played a small part in helping that couple of family create some lasting memories.
Why they chose this property
When I was looking for my first cabin, I fell in love with the Birch Hollow development and decided to build. I own 3 cabins in the development with plans to build more.
What makes this property unique
This is probably my favorite cabin because of the architecture. Putting the ridge beam on a bias made for an interesting looking roofline and allowed me to install huge windows to really let in the light.
