Property Details:
The property is full of lush mature trees overhanging a large, gently sloping yard all the way to the water. There is a beautiful Japanese Maple beside the house and a couples swing under it to relax and enjoy the water views and kids playing. There is plenty of shade on warm sunny days to relax or just watch the kids swim. The property has plenty of space for parking of vehicles or your water sports toys. Entering from the road side, there is a gravel lot for parking and a garage (the garage will not be available for guests but the long driveway provides plenty Ty of parking for multiple vehicles).
The Water, Dock, Pier and Boat Ramp:
The property has its own boat ramp to launch your boat, jet-skis, or other toys. There is a large dock that can be used to tie up your boats and toys. The dock is carpeted to help prevent splinters and has 2 ladders for folks to enter and exit the water. There is a water slide on the left side of the dock and a diving board on the right side. The water is deepest at the diving board and we recommend only diving there. Feet first everywhere else. One of our favorite spots on the property is the hammock that is draped over the front end of the dock. It's positioned so that you can watch the sunrise and sunset and the water/waves gently rock you to sleep on nice summer days. It's the ultimate in relaxation. The pier is a nice place to sit, fish, and enjoy the views. Please note that all children must be supervised by adults to swim and wear life jackets.
The Home:
Three bedroom, 2 full-bath, brick home that sleeps 9 comfortably in beds (1 more with a pull out trundle). The Kitchen has been updated with granite and stainless appliances. In the cabinets should be most everything you need for cooking. If there are kitchen accessories you desire feel free to message and confirm if available). The den has a couch and recliner to relax in air condition and watch TV. The home has cable, multiple streaming apps on the smart TV, and a Blu-Ray DVD player (for us old people). My favorite spot indoors is the new sun room. It is all glass to view beautiful Lake Norman and the sunrise/sunset.
The primary bedroom has a queen sized bed with new, high-end mattress/box springs and smart TV. You will enjoy the large view of the lake from the sliding glass doors Just outside the sliding doors is a nice patio with padded outdoor furniture and a pretty blue marble gas fired outdoor fire pit/table.
The attached master bathroom has a granite vanity, tile floor, and large, walk-in tile shower.
Second guest room has a Queen bed with TV and closet. Plenty of luxury linens, blankets and pillows provided.
Third bedroom (amazing kid sanctuary) sleeping 5. There is a bunk bed with two twins, as well as a full-size bed WITH trundle bed underneath. Smart TV for kid shows and quiet time.
Finally, there is a large closet/laundry room with front load washer/dryers and plenty of storage for your vacation clothes.
Plenty of bath and lake towels provided.
Great room:
The home has a fireplace with electric flame that can be used as both heat and no heat for romantic evenings. In the sunroom a large desk with multiple computer displays provided for remote work.
The Water and Amenities:
The water is outstanding. Fishing is great - we catch bass, bream, catfish, and crappie - all from the docks. You are free to use our canoe and 2 kayaks. Life jackets are required and we have some, but we recommend brining your own. There are a few fishing rods in the dock closet for use by our guests as well. Please note that NC fishing license is required to fish and can be purchased at the local Wal-mart or many other stores in the area. There are miles and miles of rivers and creeks to kayak, canoe, and explore. In a short ride around the bend, you can literally go into seclusion for miles into Catawba County Park System of rivers/creeks. Another great benefit to this location is the cove setting - it's not so crowded like the main channels and right off our dock is some of the best skiing and tubing water on the lake. It's protected from wind and is 4 bridges back from the main channel making it outstanding for fishing, skiing, and jet-skiing right off the docks and in front of the house (this is very different from other places that have only shallow water, or have no wake zones or worse, ocean sized waves in the main channel). It should be noted that if the water is very high, pontoons with high roofs or wake-board boats with high towers may not be able to pass. This has only happened 3 times in our 8 years, but I wanted to note this fact.
On the patio, there is a couples swing/chair for lounging under a Japanese Maple. This is another favorite spot of ours. The patio also has a Weber grill for your use, a swing for 2 and inside the brown patio box are pads and pillows for the swing. We do request that these be returned to the box during rain and upon check out.
Lakeside Outdoor Beach / Fire-pit Feature:
There is a large outdoor patio space lake side with a large white sand beach area with chairs to lay out in the sun and relax! For nice evenings, take advantage of the fire pit for s’mores and chilling under the stars on the outdoor patio furniture. Some wood may be left over from previous guests, but we do recommend brining your own wood to burn.
Wrap-up:
We have tried our best to represent the property thoroughly and accurately. We truly hope you will consider staying here. It's not perfect - in fact it's an older home in an older neighborhood, but the water and views are outstanding and we’ve gone to great lengths to make sure the home is clean and comfortable. It has been such a blessing to raise our kids here. Thanks for looking and hopefully booking. Our hosts are FANTASTIC, responsive, and quick to remedy and concerns that arrive.
