About this property

Hand-Crafted Sheep Wagon ~ Luxuriously Rustic ~ Private Meadow Site

The Meadow Wagon

Experience the solitude of the old west in this unique, hand-crafted Wyoming sheep wagon.

Enjoy your peaceful camping stay at this hand-crafted wagon located in a private hillside meadow on Casper Mountain in Casper, Wyoming with unobstructed views of the surrounding mountains and wilderness. If escaping the rat race, getting in touch with nature, and breathing in fresh mountain air is what you need...then this location is exactly what you are looking for.

You will need to bring your own food as if you were camping. There is a BBQ grill provided for cooking and a case of bottled water for drinking. A cooler is also provided for food storage and ice can be supplied with prior arrangements.

This sheep wagon has a queen-sized bed, a few cooking pots and pans, plates and utensils, paper towels. Five gallons of water for washing hands and any other clean up. When "nature calls", a rustic outhouse (the bathroom) is on site…supplied with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. There is no running water or showers at this location.

Bring your hiking boots and enjoy the property or rest and relax with a good book. Watch and photograph the abundant wildlife...including mule deer, wild turkeys, birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and other wildlife that call the area home. Depending on your time of stay, the meadow is full of a wide variety of wildflowers...including purple lupine, and Indian paintbrush (Wyoming's State Flower).

Please note that access to this property requires a vehicle that can handle backcountry travel on rough dirt roads. Access is not suitable for low clearance vehicles.

There is a fire ban in this area. Therefore, NO campfires are allowed.

About the host

Host profile image
I was born and raised here in Casper, Wyoming and come from a family of carpenters. Woodworking is a passion of mine.

Why they chose this property

This property, and the acreage surrounding it, has been in my family for a number of years. The original homestead site...just a short distance from the meadow you are staying in...has been in my family since the 1950s. My parents built the original homestead, which we unfortunately lost to a devastating wildfire in 2012.

What makes this property unique

The land this wagon sits on is unique because of the history it holds in our family. The Meadow Wagon itself is the third sheep wagon I have built by hand using lumber from trees I harvested from the property after the 2012 fire. I then milled the lumber and finished every piece by hand.
