Wild Sage Barn was built in the 1800's by German immigrant settlers. Originally, it was a two-story barn made of hand-hewed limestone. Renovations added a living area, kitchen and bath. Authenticity of early settlers is found on some of the door frames which has penciled accounts of crop yields for 1889 and 1890. Built on a ten acre “out lot”, today it maintains the countryside atmosphere on the current two acres, even though it is located a few blocks from Main Street.
Inside this elegant barn you will enjoy the magnificence of the high beamed ceilings and original shake ceiling over the original part of the house. The master bedroom is a loft overlooking the fireplace in the open living area. It is majestically decorated with a king bed as the focal point of the room and topped with a beautiful comforter and skirt.
The living area, kitchen and bath have rustic cedar walls and ceiling. A limestone fireplace with a Texas Lone Star is delightful on a cool day. The kitchen is equipped for light cooking. A clawfoot tub in the bathroom overlooks a large oak tree and wildlife from the wooded area, providing privacy and relaxation.

Wild Sage Barn
Owner was very friendly. The accommodations were excellent. The rain on the metal roof and the windmill brought back childhood memories. Would definitely stay again.
I really enjoyed staying at the Wild Sage Barn. super close to main street yet secluded and quite. I love the old wooden floors, the original stone work, the jacuzzi tub! Easy check in and out too!

Great Stay!
We loved our stay at Wild Sage Barn! We have used Gaste Haus Schmidt for booking before and they always make it super easy. This property was very lovely and comfortable. It was even close enough for us to walk up to Main Street. Highly recommend!
