The property is older, but the location is great. I was right on St Charles able to walk to a couple of restaurants one directly across the street. If you wanted a streetcar, it was directly in front of the building. It took me a while to figure out how to connect to internet and work the heat pump (There were some colder days, but once I learned the system, there were no issues.) i felt safe. The unit was clean, there were adequate supplies. (I stayed for a month.) There is paid laundry on site. Uptown was my old neighborhood, so I can access to all the great bakeries and restaurants and bars. I will be staying there again.
The place is not well cared for, so it is run down, dirty, and smelly. It is also extremely loud with 24 hour traffic. Residents leave trash and pet waste in the courtyard. When it rains all walkways flood. Also trash is not collected, so dumpster by parking is overflowing. When we reached out to property management for issues, it was clear they didn’t care. We left 10 days early. Do not recommend.
Apartment was well equipped and clean. The location was great. Communication between the Realator and myself was open and fast response on there part. I was there a month.
If I was to stay again in New Orleans I would stay at this location.
Love this building and location, Nola Apts is great and super communicative. Would stay here again for sure.

Excellent Location
Great place for a extended stay in New Orleans. Since I have live in NO off and on for 6 years, I pretty much know the area - great location. Nice, clean place with great ac and heat. No problems with the property and the price was right. Bathroom and bedroom where functional and all you need. Kitchen was fully stocked with the necessities. Internet was great-fast and was never down. TV was a few basic cable channels and that was it.
With all the good - just remember this is not the Ritz - its NO. Building is older. Parking is on the street - no parking lot. Street car is literally right outside the unit - great for access up or down town - not so much if you are a light sleeper. It now runs 24hr a day - so you might need some white noise to drown it out.
Good news it that the St Charles street re-pave project is now all done - so the road out front is all nice and new. I got the pleasure of the entire project and parking woes. If you are a long term renter you will need to bring a vacuum or hire a housekeeper. No iron, board, or vacuum in the unit. 3 washers and 3 driers on site - one each was broke the entire time I was there - others worked ok.
Overall a great place as long as your expectations are in line with the price. I would rent again.

Avenue Gardens Delight
What a wonderful experience at the Avenue Gardens. A little home away from home that is centrally located to just about anywhere you want to go in Uptown or a streetcar ride to French Quarters.
During an extended stay while my husband recovered from surgery in New Orleans, we found this rental a bit of heaven to stay at. Maria, along with the in house staff, was very accommodating and met all our needs. A wonderful memory foam bed, large kitchen with all you need, (even though there are fabulous restaurants all around) and great air conditioning for those summer months in NOLA!!
We can't wait to come back again to this quaint and welcoming rental. Would highly recommend for 2 people.

Poco limpio

Great value, location
Very nice location. Street car line out front under renovation but bus stops there instead. Covered parking was a nice bonus. We did not drive downtown, just left our car and rode the bus and streetcar. Apartment perfect for 2, 3rd person would have to be very short to sleep on small sofa.

Our worst VRBO experience so far, hopefully ever.
My husband and I live in Florida. We've both visited New Orleans multiple times. We looked forward to a nice long weekend and opportunities to see some old favorites as well as new things. There were no reviews for this property when we booked our stay, and that is now a red light for me in future bookings. We're good, experienced, serious travelers and have absolutely loved three other VRBO properties in France and Oregon. Pretty much everything about this property fit our needs, but the negatives made for quite a miserable experience. The bed was very comfy, the location was perfection, we appreciated not having to walk up stairs with baggage, we're wonderful walkers so trekking a bit to catch the trolley or bus wasn't a problem, even with the on-going construction work. Traffic noise was very minimal and hardly noticed. The property was immaculate (we were the first rental). The azaleas all over the place were in full and gorgeous bloom. So, the problem is, the shower was not enclosed. The pictures now on the website show and describe a "large luxury glass shower with marbled tile, beautiful vessel sink and vanity." Not so much; I have pictures of the non-existent "luxury glass shower with marbled tile and beautiful vessel sink and vanity." Not even a shower curtain. Three little synthetic bath rugs were placed around the edge of the shower stall. Of course they became soaked and we hung them outside on the railing, where they never dried because it rained a little bit each day. The tiled bath floor became soaked and thereby really potentially dangerous. We could have complained. New Orleans was in the middle of the worldwide wrestling competition...there was literally nowhere else to go.
All in all, we had a wonderful time because we love NOLA and we travel enough to always carry a healthy grain of salt. But as far as our NOLA experience is concerned, this was quite a surprising negative. This property was not ready to have been rented on numerous levels.

Lovely St Charles Ave apartment
This is a lovely apartment in the Garden District. I was hesitant about renting because there were no reviews at the time, but the place was clean and nicely furnished, and the lack of reviews was because the property manager, Craig, was just starting to use VRBO. Craig was responsive with my questions leading up to and during my stay. I did not get some information prior to my stay (check-in and -out procedures, parking information, etc.)... if that happens to you just give Craig a call and he will tell you everything you need to know.
Having an off-street parking space was very nice. The wifi worked well, and the A/C was great. The apartment comfortably accommodates 2, but 3 would be a stretch, as the couch is not a pull-out and there were no extra linens for a third person. The ad says pets considered, but when I inquired about bringing my 20lb, 11 yr old dog my request was denied, so be sure to ask about that if it's important to you. There is a moderate amount of street noise, as the bedroom faces St. Charles Ave. Also, there is currently construction on the trolley line (April 2014), and the trolley does not run for several blocks in both directions from the apartment. There is a bus that connects between the two points, but don't expect to walk out the front door and hop on the trolley until the construction is completed there.
The Garden District is a very nice place to stay. There were several nice restaurants within walking distance, and it was very easy to get into the French Quarter. The courtyard of the apartment building was quaint and lovely. I also felt safe staying there. Overall I recommend this rental.
