About this property
Whitt’s End -- a spacious private lodging in a historic Springfield neighborhood
About this space Unique home in Springfield’s oldest neighborhood (est. 1902) near the Capitol and downtown but feels like a world away. Huge covered front porch, backyard orchard/garden, spacious rooms. This home, located in an iconic family-friendly neighborhood, is more than 100 years old, and was cut up into a duplex many decades ago. Your host lives upstairs in an entirely separate unit. You will have complete privacy. The space: There’s one bedroom at the back of the unit. In the front is a parlor room that can be closed off completely and function as a second bedroom. It has a futon sofa that can be made into a bed, but the space can also accommodate a queen-size air mattress. There are smart TVs in the parlor bedroom and in the living room. Guest access: You’re welcome to enjoy the front porch, which has gliders and a small table with chairs. You’re also welcome to explore the backyard garden/orchard, which has seasonal fruits and veggies, a fire pit and small grill. If you plan to bring a pet, please connect with me when you make your reservation so that we can ensure our pets don’t interfere with each other (I have two very friendly dogs). Bringing a pet without informing me will result in an added fee. Within walking distance: Several good restaurants plus Pease's candy shop, a pizza place, and local fave SnoBizz stand. We're also near Springfield's favorite park, Washington Park, which has tennis courts and an amazing playground. If you're traveling with a canine, your host can share info on all the dog-friendly bars, cafes, and shopping spots.

Great place to stay ! The home was clean, cozy, and had everything you could need from the multiple charging cubes to bathroom and kitchen essentials. If you appreciate antique furnishings this home has it. The backyard was nice and had cute pathways between the many trees and garden. Our dog loved all the smells too ! The host is quick to respond and easy going. Highly recommend !
