About the host
Hosted by Madison L Holland
Hi! We're Madi and James, your hosts during your stay at The Hansell House. We’re both originally from Alabama—James went to the University of Georgia, and Madi went to LSU—so things get fun around here during football season!
We moved to Thomasville in 2021 from Alabama and quickly fell in love with the small-town charm, sense of community, and slower pace of life. We live nearby and love sharing our favorite parts of the area with guests. Whether it’s your first visit or a return trip, we hope you’ll fall in love with this town like we have.
When we’re not hosting, you’ll find us working on home renovation projects, grabbing coffee at our favorite spot (Pasco Coffee Shop), or hunting for antiques.

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this neighborhood the first time we visited—it’s full of charm, character, and that unmistakable small-town warmth that makes Thomasville so special. Located in the heart of the historic district, it’s just a few quiet blocks from downtown, where you’ll find brick-lined streets, locally owned shops, restaurants, and beautiful parks.
The neighborhood feels peaceful and walkable, with friendly neighbors and historic homes that tell their own stories. We love sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee in the mornings or strolling downtown for dinner and live music in the evenings. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down and really enjoy your time.
Whether you're here for a weekend getaway or a longer stay, we hope you experience the same sense of community and charm that made us want to call this neighborhood home.

What makes this property unique
The Hansell House is a unique blend of historic charm and thoughtful modern touches. Built in 1926, the home has been lovingly updated to create a cozy, cottage-style retreat while preserving its original character, from vintage-inspired wallpaper to carefully curated antique accents.
What truly sets it apart is how welcoming and family-friendly it is. We’ve stocked the home with everything parents might need for a smooth stay, including a pack & play, high chair, baby gates, and toys. It's also pet-friendly, with a fully fenced yard for four-legged guests to enjoy.
We designed this space to feel like a true home away from home—a place where families can slow down, relax, and experience the charm of Thomasville together. Whether you're sipping coffee on the front porch or walking downtown for dinner, The Hansell House offers something special that’s both comfortable and memorable.
