About this property
Fattoria Valtellina by Boutique | Tuscany
Summary:
A serene and sophisticated four-bedroom retreat nestled in the rolling hills of Chianti, this restored stone villa blends noble Tuscan tradition with modern comfort. Owned by the same family for generations and redesigned by the architectural firm Domenico Minchilli Design of Rome, the home offers expansive vineyard views, luxurious interiors, and seamless indoor-outdoor living. Complete with daily housekeeping and curated services, it’s an idyllic base for discovering the heart of Tuscany.
The Space:
Perched atop a hillside and surrounded by olive groves, oaks, and vineyards, this centuries-old home has been restored with timeless elegance and care. It features four bedrooms—each with an en-suite bath—stone floors, fireplaces, exposed beams, and tasteful furnishings that evoke the spirit of a noble Tuscan residence. Outdoor spaces include classic Italian terraces, a 12m x 6m pool, shaded pergolas, and al fresco dining areas with panoramic countryside views.
The layout includes a large living area, dining room and kitchen, and a separate annex with a twin-bedroom that can convert to a double. Every detail has been curated for comfort, relaxation, and aesthetic pleasure.
Guest Access:
Guests have full and private access to the entire villa, its gardens, pool, terraces, and annex. A local staff is available six days a week for housekeeping, grocery shopping, and additional services upon request. Private chefs, curated tours, and other experiences can also be arranged ahead of your stay.
The Neighborhood:
Located in Rietine, just outside Gaiole in Chianti, the home sits in the heart of one of Europe’s most idyllic wine regions. The area is dotted with historic castles, charming villages, and the renowned Chianti Classico vineyards. The nearby towns of Gaiole and Radda offer open-air markets, celebrated ceramic studios, medieval architecture, and a vibrant wine culture steeped in history.
Getting Around:
While a car is recommended for exploring the region, scenic cycling and walking routes begin just outside the door—including sections of the famed strade bianche used in the Eroica vintage bike race. Florence is approximately 90 kilometers away, and Siena is an easy day trip. The closest airport is in Florence, about 1 hour and 15 minutes by car.
Other Things to Note:
Sustainability is a guiding principle of the home, with eco-friendly cleaning products and an electric car charging station available. A tourist tax of €1.50 per person, per night will be collected in cash for the first seven nights, as required by local law.
