My husband and I stayed there several years ago and loved it, looking forward to this stay. Sadly the home was very dirty and not well maintained. There were long thick cobwebs hanging from the rafters, chandelier, pot and pan overhead rack with smaller ones everywhere. The dirt on the musical instruments was so thick you could draw on them. The front screen door was falling off. The kitchen appliances were filthy. I would not use the microwave or oven. The tea kettle on the stove top was so thick with grease and grime that I would not dare to use it. The carpet in the downstairs bedroom was moist and black around the edges. The dryer door was falling off and had duct tape to hold it shut. The living room upper windows were cracked. the shower knob had no bolt so it kept falling off. Mice poop in the bathroom floor cracks and on the counter in the upstairs bathroom. The fireplace thresh hold was busted up with loose gravel all over it. The steps to get up to the cabin were not safe. They needed filled in with stone and add some lights that worked. There was no book with instructions or contacts (a worker showed up to service the hot tub which we were not aware was coming). It is a beautiful rustic cabin and could be a wonderful place to stay if it were kept up and clean. We enjoyed the hot tub and the beautiful views. It is sad to see how it's charm went downhill so much since our last stay. We ended up leaving a day early because we couldn't stand it any longer.

Location was great, very secluded but also near main road so easy in/out with snow. Very quiet and close parking. Hot tub was excellent and ready to go. Cabin was very rustic and a vibe. Was fairly dingy inside with dirt/cobwebs on walls and ceiling. Upstairs bed/bedroom smelled a bit like urine. Outside of that we had a very enjoyable stay.

I’m just wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed the rustic feel of you cabin and the location amazing. The hot tub and star gazing were definitely highlights for our family. However there are many things that need your attention.Main level bathroom door-cracked and not closing. Outside part of main level bathroom doorknob is missing. Main level shower faucet knob falls off. Bathroom hand soap is watered down. Not enough tin foil to cover our dinner. No sandwich bags. Cheap thin toilet paper. No wash cloths in bathrooms. Front door is very difficult to open-key doesn’t turn easily. Couldn’t find the back door lockbox. Need more solar lights on path-dark when checking in and very dangerous-only 2 were working.Flashlight batteries need replacing. Kitchen faucet is leaking. The rustic vibes are wonderful but that doesn’t excuse the need for dusting and deep cleaning.

the cabin was cozy and cute, hot tub was great. the sleeping situation was not good at all for us personally so we only stayed 1 night out of 2. the cabin also needs a deep cleaning. i don’t have allergies but the dust from the cabin had me stuffy and sneezing. that and sleeping situation was enough for us to cut it short and head back home.

It was very secluded which was perfect for a honemoon getaway. But there were some issues. The were many mice roaming the house and mouse poop all over. They got into our snack overnight. There was some firewood inside for the wood stove but no kindling. By the time i realized it it was very dark out and didnt want to go looking for any, so we had to pass on the wood stove that evening. In the picture, is a lot of mouse droppings, in this small glass. Lots of maintenace issues. Bathroom door and front door mainly. The hot tub was very nice tho.

A perfect fall getaway! The aspens around the cabin were beautiful and you could walk the trails right off the property. It was secluded and quiet which we loved. The house itself was cozy, clean, and well stocked, and the hot tub was excellent. Can’t recommend enough!

It is an amazing mountain log cabin with hot tub and it is mostly secluded....however, this beautifully built and sturdy cabin is in dire need of deep cleaning, mice control and many maintenance issues. The cabin is fully equipped and furnished, somewhat outdated, but everything needed washed prior to use. As stated, this cabin needs CLEANED!! We stayed 3 nights. Momma moose and her baby were nearby the entire time!!

Very cozy! Have to park below the cabin in the cul de sac, so be prepared to haul luggage/gear up the hill (flight and a half of railroad tie stairs). Short drive to Fairplay or Alma for breakfast and coffee. Wish the lighting in the cabin was better, we tried to do a puzzle at night and had to move lamps around, which still wasn't enough - but plenty for general living. Cabin is also far enough away from any light pollution for good nighttime photography.

Overall it was exactly as we expected and wanted. The location was perfect for visiting other towns and little travel. We saw Elk and Moose during the stay and that was a beautiful site. The cabin itself was spacious and had all the necessities needed for the stay. The bathroom door on the lower level is broken and was difficult to close, depending on who you stay with we had to use the bathroom with the door open most of the time. There was also mouse poop all over the cabin so that was hard with a toddler being they like to stick everything in their mouths. Expected being in the mountains just a bummer to deal with. There were games and puzzles and books to keep anyone occupied as well as a hot tub which was a nice addition. The views were amazing and the cabin allowed for our four legged family members to experience the fun also. Definitely would recommend and will be back for future visits.

Great property. Cozy, clean interior. Hot tub is an awesome addition after a day of hiking. Beautiful trails just minutes from the cabin. Nice deck to drink coffee on in the morning and a little stargazing at night. Zero light pollution makes the night sky amazing. 2 moose hanging out on the property on the first day. There is a small trail that is perfect for walking the dog in the morning and evening. Follow it out to an old placer mine which was fun to check out. The cabin sits in a grove of aspen which were getting ready to turn. Must be amazing in mid September. My wife is an avid fly fisher and was thrilled by the numerous streams, lakes and beaver ponds to fish very close to the cabin. Check out Otto’s Cartyard in Alma for a delicious lunch. We are already planning to head back in 26.

Nice Secluded Cabin

We enjoyed being able to walk off the property into National Forest and that it was secluded (good for the dog, who has a hard time around strangers). We saw a good amount of wildlife, large and small. Great place to stay if your goal is to get away from home and find some peace and quiet. Not particularly close to major tourist attractions, but convenient if you wanted to climb some of the 14ers between Breckenridge and Fairplay.

a Colorado native that loves the mountains and has a home in Denver. The cabin is my slice of heaven and I enjoy sharing it with others! It is the perfect get-away, to connect with nature, play in the great outdoors, relax and cherish the moments! While you can still 'connect' there, it is easy to forget about everything else when you're at the cabin! Cozy and peaceful in one of the most beautiful areas in the world. An outdoor paradise for everything you want to do - hiking, biking, rock hounding, fishing, climbing, kayaking, rafting, canoeing, x-skiing, alpine at resorts, snowshoeing, horseback riding, soaking in the nearby hot springs!
I love the community there too! Fairplay, Buena Vista, Breckenridge, and Alma, highest elevation inc town in North America. I had a small outdoor gear store - OutYaGo Mountain Gear. Maybe you remember it? :)

Why they chose this property

The South Park region is a beautiful treasure among the major ski resorts! Close to Breckenridge, Keystone, A Basin, Copper, Frisco, etc.. there is also the raging Arkansas River for whitewater, 13 and 14k ft peaks to climb and meadows of wildflowers and aspen, even gold mines to explore. South Park is perfectly center of Colorado state! Doesn't get better then this!

What makes this property unique

Enjoying a fire in a beautiful cozy, luxury log home, a hot tub on the deck, the amazing stars in through the skylights..nestled and secluded in the middle of the Colorado Rocky Mountains - the place and the time there glows!! This full round log home is unique with a 'dream home' feel. The Cabin creates a very cherished, memorable vacation for family, couples, friends, time to reflect by self. Something for everyone to do and love!
