Very nice, very comfortable! Everything looked brand new, very comfortable beds! We were able to sit on the deck and grill! We plan to stay again, would highly recommend!
What a gorgeous apartment! We found this little gem as an impromptu visit to Wamego on our way home from Colorado. The town was adorable, but the apartment was amazing! You can tell they care for their guests by all the little touches, and take pride in the restoration of the space. Would absolutely stay here again!
We stayed for 5 nights to attend a wedding. We would give it 6 stars. The place was great. It was recently restored was super clean and big. The master bed was super comfortable. It was equipped with all high end appliances and came stocked with snacks, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, laundry & dish/dishwasher detergent, high end bath towels, and toiletries. The host was extremely attentive and responded immediately to a few minor questions. The location and the town of Wamego were awesome. We would recommend this place to family and friends and will definitely stay there again if we go back to Kansas.
Pictures don’t really do it justice; very well done property. Very clean! Has a nice high end feel with some historic charm. Location is above a donut shop in the charming downtown area. Easy walking to coffee, restaurants, hair salon, liquor store etc. Also walking distance to park area and the river. Oz Winery was a fun stop and 4th & Elm Grill was a good local spot. Easy access from the front or the back of property. There is a stout but safe stair climb no matter which way you enter. The back stairs and deck area look to be nearly new. Bathroom is beautiful and spacious. Good water pressure. Bunk room is cozy but was perfect for the kids and gave them some good togetherness time. Main bedroom is nice and spacious. A wardrobe or at least some hooks to hang clothing would be a nice addition to the bedrooms. Kitchen is very nice and well equipped; we did cook some and everything worked well. Living / dining space is very comfortable and well done. The Wamego downtown was a charming surprise and this property exceeded expectations. There was a little noise in the morning from the shop below, but a touch of white noise from the ol iPhone and we slept in just fine. It is a little pricey for the area but worth the splurge if you want to know you are going to have top notch accommodations.

About the host

My wife, Nikki, and I are local to Wamego and we love our community! We are passionate about preserving the history of our little town, and have long awaited the opportunity to share an historic space such as this. Nikki has dreamed of running a hotel or bed and breakfast since she was a young girl. As a real estate broker/agent, I know the importance of having a comfortable place to call home, even on the road! As a business owner and a homeschooling family of six, our flexible lifestyle has made the short term rental management gig a perfect fit for our family! We hope you will be blessed by your time in our beloved space.
Why they chose this property
Wamego has the best festivals around! Although the Tulip Festival and OzFest are wonderful, the Fourth of July really takes the cake! Between the week long carnival, the traditional parade and the biggest fireworks show in the state, there is no better place to celebrate! With the parade right downstairs and all other activities within walking distance, Lincoln is the place to be! We also love being located right beside Wamego's best restaurants, coffee shops, antique shops, swimming, and the charming City Park.
What makes this property unique
We tried to encapsulate the historic feel of the 1880 building in every choice that we made. We retrained original flooring, matched original trim and even included push button light switches throughout the space. The furnishings and decorations are intended to take you back to an era of days gone by, all while maintaining modern comfort and convenience. The charm of the Saddle Shop has remained intact with the retention of the original shop window, cash register and a number of original books. This property feels rich with nearly 150 years of life being lived within its walls.
