Great location! Saw an amazing northern light show on the one clear night we had which was the highlight of our trip. Perfect set up for our family. Would definitely stay here again!
Love the cabin. The gps is a little weird getting there. Location is close enough to selfoss that enjohying good food and shopping for essentials is easy. The stay was very enjoyable!
We had a great stay with incredible views of the surrounding. Check in was easy, and the host was accommodating of our needs. Would highly recommend this location for anyone looking to get a bit further away from the city.

Great place to stay, hosts were amazing, they were quick to respond to any questions, suggested great spots locally and we’re accommodating to help us out with different things. Watching the northern lights in the hot tub is a must! Thanks for making this a great stay !
If you want the epitome of an Icelandic experience BOOK HERE! There was more than enough space 4 adults and we were lucky enough to watch the Northern Lights from the hot tub!
We had a great stay in the Northern Lights Cabin. The cabin was really well-equipped and in a lovely area - we saw an arctic fox cub walk past one evening!Sigurjon was a great host - he always replied very promptly and was extremely helpful and friendly.
Great location! This place was in a beautiful gated area with amazing wide open views and minutes from Selfoss. Easy to access south sights of interest toward Vik, The hot tub was wonderful. Communication was prompt with perfect recommendations. Driving instructions and key pick up were exact and easy. The bathroom was small but clean and nice.
The cabin was pristine and beautiful. The hosts were quickly responsive to messages. The location is a new development with ample space between properties — construction on the adjacent lot didn't bother us. Finding the cabin was a minor challenge, but the host's welcome instructions were sufficient given daylight. FYI: expect big potholes on the gravel roads. The kitchen had stocked ingredients, utensils, cutlery, small appliances, a 2L pot, and a frying pan, plus a Weber grill outside. The 2L pot is small for a family pasta night, but manageable.Renters: proactively message the host about bed linens. I traveled with two children and only one loft bed had linens, which forced some awkward sleeping arrangements. We made it work, but it's worth sorting in advance. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights one clear evening. The hosts generously keep the hot tub on and ready. Note that proximity-triggered lights between the two buildings can briefly interfere with night vision, though they shut off after 10 seconds. Also, the guest house sits just north of the hot tub, blocking the northern horizon. The only north-facing window is in the loft, which had us gazing there since the aurora hugged the horizon during our stay.Overall, a lovely rental and we would happily return!
This cabin and guest house was just right for our group of 4. We had one couple and a father with adult son. It was easy to find and located where starry skies and northern lights were amazing. It was clean with basic amenities and the owners were easy to communicate with. Hot tub was clean. Note that the twin beds are in a loft with very low ceiling. Perfect for kids but slightly tight for adults. Nearest store is in Selfoss so plan accordingly.
It’s a cuute little cabin . Modern and tidy though the access to the property was verry pebbly a bit like F208 , otherwise would give 5 stars , ample hot water and all small necessities included . Sleeping accommodation was awkward . One of us had to sleep in separate cabin and one in the attic with verry limited head room .
Our family had an absolutely magical stay at this property. If you're looking for peace, privacy, and a true Icelandic experience, this is the place. Nestled in a remote location, the cabin offered stunning views and a sense of serenity. The hosts were responsive and made sure everything was perfect for our arrival. The location is ideal for anyone wanting to explore the Golden Circle. We were just a short drive from Thingvellir National Park, Geysir, and Gullfoss, which made day trips super convenient. The cabin itself was cozy, clean, and well-equipped for our family. We loved soaking in the hot tub under after a day of adventuring. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already dreaming of our next visit. Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a unique and peaceful Icelandic getaway!
Convenient to Thingvellir National Park and the Southern Coast
We were able to tour both the national park and the southern coast conveniently without having to move between lodgings. The cabin is pretty new, has a nice view of the mountains, and a hot tub and grill on a pretty deck (though the midges require a head net that the host graciously provided for us). The kitchenette was adequate for us since we weren’t cooking anything more than breakfast. The upstairs bedroom with twin beds would be a great spot for a couple of kids who find it fun to climb up a ladder into a cosy nest. There is a smaller cabin connected by the deck with a second double bed and half bath—a nice arrangement when two couples are traveling together and appreciate their own space. I can’t praise the hosts enough. They communicated well, addressed every need requested and even anticipated others. I recommend checking it out, especially if you’re touring both the golden circle and southern coast and want to come home to a quiet place away from the summer tourist crowds.
