Great communication with host. Always quick to respond and answered any questions we had. The home was extremely clean which is a huge plus to us. Everything in the home was as promised. The neighborhood is very quiet. Mostly all you hear are the birds during the day and the Coqui frogs at night. The garage access was nice especially on those days it was raining when we were leaving or arriving. We would definitely recommend this home.

Thank you for such a thoughtful review. I’m so glad the communication felt quick and easy and that the home was spotless when you arrived. Clean and as advertised is always the goal. It sounds like you got the full soundtrack of the neighborhood too, birds by day and coqui frogs by night. That quiet atmosphere really is something special. And having the garage on those rainy days definitely comes in clutch. We truly appreciate the recommendation and would welcome you back anytime.

House was very comfy and was in close proximity of VNP. Host is very responsive and replies quickly to messages. There is no TV in the third bedroom as the listing states but did not matter to us. If you are looking for a quick trip to the volcano for the eruption, this is the place! (And yes, we did see it!!!) About a 40 minute drive and make a stop to Lanakai Brewing for their delicious burgers, they were fantastic! The garage was great to have especially getting in and out dry with all the rain that happened during the trip. Most definitely would stay here again if we come to the Hilo area again. Quiet neighborhood, but be prepared to hear coqui frogs at night!

Amenities - low water pressure and creaky bed in master

Thanks for sharing this feedback. We’re sorry those issues popped up during your stay. The low water pressure and the creaky bed in the master have since been fixed, but we know that doesn’t change your experience in the moment. We really appreciate you bringing it to our attention so we could take care of it right away and make things better moving forward.

You’ll love staying here—very cozy, updated, and comfortable! A couple of small hiccups on arrival: the LR AC tube had fallen and leaked water, but the host responded quickly and was very kind. Just a note, if the AC isn’t turned on before arrival, it can be hot inside at first (or if using the stove). The place was overall clean, though the inside of the coffee maker and ceiling fans could use a deeper cleaning. Hubby had to clean the ceiling fans because I have allergies, and it’s too hot in the house not to use them. MB bed was a little firm but still comfy. We enjoyed being able to use the washer and dryer and cook in the beautiful kitchen while there. Also lounging on the LR couch while streaming movies. There’s also a great restaurant close by: Kalie’s Bar & Grill which the host recommended while fixing the AC. Food was excellent and they made a great “Old Fashion”. Despite the minor issues, we truly enjoyed our stay—thank you to our wonderful host!

Really appreciate you taking the time to share all that. Sounds like you made yourself right at home, which is exactly what we hope for. Thanks for rolling with the little hiccup at check-in and for the kind words about how it was handled. We’ve already made sure the fans and coffee maker got some extra attention, so thanks for the heads-up there too. Glad you got to kick back, cook a little, and try Kalie’s. That Old Fashion hits the spot, right? You were awesome guests, and we’d love to have you back anytime.
