About this property

Charming 3 BR Lakefront Cottage on N Dease Lake. 50' frontage -sandy swim area.

The awesome view of the N. Dease Lake greets you the moment you walk in to our open concept cottage. Enjoy our spacious lot that is level to the water, (no steps to the lake!) where you can dock your boat at our private dock which is very near the launch. No boat?...we have a canoe and peddleboat for your enjoyment. This is a private lake so it is not too busy...even on the holidays. And the fishing is great! Northern Pike, perch, bluegill, bass, crappie, etc...Hale is a small town with a lot to offer..the best ice cream and pizzerias are plentiful, along with several other great restaurants that are nearby. You'll be comfortable in our clean and cozy beds. We have a well stocked kitchen to meet all your cooking needs. The gas grill/griddle and patio with dining table, and additional picnic table, make for easy outdoor meals while enjoying the view. Watch the sunset and then spend your evenings sitting by our oversized firepit. Our bathroom is brand new with a walkin shower. Hale is situated about half way between West Branch and Tawas City, both of which have beautiful downtowns with unique shopping and great resaurants, movie theaters. Tawas has a playhouse with live theater. Youll even find a bowling alley and skate rink for rainy days.... We are About 30 minutes from the beautiful Lake Huron. Drive for 30 minutes or less and you will find so many attractions, some are...Tawas Pointe State Park, Rifle River Recreation Area, AuSable River, Rifle River, tubing, canoeing, hiking , hunting, fishing, ORV trails, snowmobiling trails, Lumbermans Monument, Huron National Forest, Iargo Springs, Tuttle Marsh (a bird-watcher's paradise). Hale is the land of 60 lakes...while we haven't found all 60, there are a lot! So while we think our lake is perfect...you might like to use our cottage as your home base..but could explore a different lake every day here! This is a great place to relax and disconnect...we have Wi-Fi but there is no TV. We like it that way.

Amazing, Super Clean Cabin

The interior is super classy, yet comfy — clean, awesome decor, and literally has all the essentials, and more! Our hosts provided a welcome basket with all the trimmings for s’mores- so thoughtful! The space is beautiful, and the closeness to the lake gave spectacular views, calmness, and a chance to do fun water activities. Our grown son and daughter brought their children for jet skiing, paddle-boating, kayaking, cooking and eating meals outside, lounging in the hammock, reading books, hanging out on the dock, and playing cards and games! Awesome fire pit with plenty of seating and wood was provided. The grill was top notch! Great shower and plenty of towels— classy cabinets! The neighbors put on the best Fourth of July fireworks show which we could watch right out the windows— we had the best view and seats! The entire five days was such a beautiful experience — peaceful, relaxing, unique, fun, and we agree Dease Lake is definitely Da Place! Thank you for allowing us to be guests at your awesome cabin!

Phenonmenal experiance

Had the privilege of being the first person to rent this one out. I needed to go to Hale and work for 2 weeks, so figured why not bring the family up North with me and let them get a little R&R in away from home and I didn't want to live out of a hotel room for that duration. That was a great choice (good job me!)The house is better than advertised. The living area/kitchen area is more spacious than I was anticipating. Place was spotless, and clearly had recently been updated. The water on Dease Lake is clear, unlike most of hte others in the county. The water is shallow and sandy enough to let the kids swim right off the sea wall. There's a swim platform for the kids to play on in about waist deep water just off shore. The host let us keep our boat at their dock, but there are also rentals available from a company locally. The lake is also private, meaning no public boat ramp. There is a private ramp on the south side to use - but you'll feel like you have the lake to yourself most nights!Lake is full of quality panfish, bass, and my personal favorite - northern pike.Neighbors we're all welcoming and it felt like "Lake culture" as its finest as I know it. No one bothers anyone and everyone' friendly. To that end, the host was easy to connect with while simultaneously not checking in all the time ( we couldn't help but wonder if that would be the case)Lots to do in the area if you want to explore, from hiking, canoeing, to quaint little towns. Book it!

After moving around the US quite a bit...we have been living in Hale for about 8 years, and we love it!

Why they chose this property

We loved our friends home on N. Dease Lake, it was always do relaxing to sit on the deck, or cruise around on the pontoon boat. So, decided we needed a house of our own on the lake. We love hosting guests so this is a perfect fit..
