Spacious 5-bedroom house near Great Lakes Naval Base!

Welcome to one of the most conveniently located house. Naval Graduations, Six Flags Great America, Gurnee Mills Outlet mall, American place casino, Illinois beach state parks are all within 15 minutes from this vacation home.
First floor has a large living room & a family and dining area. Kitchen has stainless steel appliances and all basic necessities like a coffee machine, toaster, dishes & cutlery etc. There are 2 bedrooms with queen size beds on first floor along with 1 full bathroom. From the layout perspective, access to the kitchen (next to the family/Dining room) is through one of the bedrooms between the living room and family room.
3 more bedrooms are there on the second floor with queen size beds and 1 full bathroom on second floor. This house can comfortably accommodate 12 people, and if needed the sofa in the living room and family room can be converted into the sofa bed to accommodate 2 more, making the accommodation up to 14. Two other full bathrooms (2nd and 3rd) are relatively smaller in size.
There is a decent size deck and a huge backyard for you to enjoy some sun & a walk in the yard.
This is a perfect place for a family gathering, vacation & relaxation.

Please let the host know, if you are bringing pet. Extra fee for the Pet. Only small hypoallergenic pets allowed.

Cute corky house. Accommodates a big family. We rented for Navy graduation and had all kinds of family join. Host was very quick at replying all my needs and concerns. Would recommend a picnic at Waukegan Beach.

The house sleeps 8, not 12. The previous reviews that call this house “quirky” do not do it justice - one bedroom is In a pass through room so if someone is sleeping you can’t reach the kitchen from the living room or bathroom without going outside. Should not be a bedroom. The basement bedroom with the game table from the photos is musty and off the furnace area and a basement workbench. Should not be a bedroom. Zoom in on all the bathroom pictures before you rent. The kitchen was clean and new, the appliances were all in good order. The furniture was all comfortable and the outside deck area was nice.

Spacious is inaccurate in the description. Enough space for 4 ppl to sit comfortably in the living room. the house smells very musty and moldy. The entire house is very dirty, including the baseboards, walls, ceilings, furniture, air vents, windows, walls and showers. Cracked and peeling paint, concrete drive and walkway very hazardous and crumbling, yard unkept, Furniture has wobbly legs and stains on the sofa. Dining room chairs also wobbly and seat supports are falling through. The layout is not convenient or comfortable, you have to walk through the bedroom to get to the dining room and kitchen. Showers are falling apart and very tiny. Staircases are narrow and creaky. Kitchen has a gas oven (one burner doesn't work) and minimally stocked to prepare a meal. Broken Verticle Blinds in the living room and only 1 TV in the whole house. Wifi is weak.Large dining room table with plenty of chairs. The deck was in good repair, the mattresses were comfortable, additional mini split a/c on second floor, neighbors yard was beautiful and they were friendly. Host responds quickly to our request for coffee cups for 8 of us and a cookie sheet (that isn't all rusted) and Frying Pan (all rusted) and a collander to drain pasta.

The neighborhood was safe and quiet. Unfortunately that did not make up for the interior. I do not ask for things to be perfect but I do not do unclean bed linens, ants or silverfish. This place had all three. We moved to a hotel for the rest of our stay. We didn’t consider the skunk playing in the backyard a negative since it was cute and didn’t approach but it was not ideal.

Sorry to hear about your experience. We never had any such issue reported about the linens before. I wish you had mentioned this issue to the property manager at the time as there were some extra linens and comforters available (if needed) in the closet for the guests that you could have used. We take your review seriously and will discuss with our cleaning crew if there was any specific linen that they missed to wash. Regarding the ants or silverfish issue, it was news to us and it could be a temporary matter due to the unexpected hot day in Chicago during your stay but we’ll get it checked nonetheless and take necessary steps. About the skunk visit (and previously we have seen rabbits), unfortunately we don’t have much control of such small animals visiting the backyard. Keeping your review in mind, we hope to make the experience better for future guests!
