This picturesque villa is Eminence On High, an enchanting villa high atop St John's Bordeaux Mountain.

This extremely private, gated villa is comprised of a magnificent main house and closely adjoining carriage house, lovely and charming. Both enjoy sweeping captivating mountain top views across the Caribbean to the British Virgin Islands on the horizon.

Due to post-hurricane road conditions, use of a 4x4 vehicle is critical to navigating St. John.

Eminence On High has abundant comfortable, relaxing outdoor spaces from which to enjoy the breathtaking views and the constant cooling Caribbean breeze.

Inside the magnificent mason home is the exquisite stone Great Room with soaring ceilings adorned with beautiful arched windows and stunning mahogany french doors which open up to the wrap around covered veranda which extends the Great Rooms' living areas to a breezy tranquil porch.

Just opposite the main living space is one of two dining rooms with charming fire place. Nearby is the stunning gourmet kitchen with blue Viking range designed for serious cooking and entertaining in mind.

There are 3 private, beautifully decorated bedrooms within the main house and 3 baths ,one with a stone and tile open air shower.

The close by carriage house has 3 spacious bedrooms, both charming with lovely interiors and The 2 upper level bedrooms share a large bath with and very private, stone mason outdoor shower. The 6th bedroom is located on the ground level of the carriage house with full ensuite bathroom.

There is much more to this spectacular family sized compound with luxurious amenities. Including the central, stone and tiled courtyard with lush tropical plantings, in-ground pool and over sized spa.

The focal point of the space is the incredible, outdoor dining area with Weber grille and seating for up to 12 guests. The space also shares a cozy, comfortable seating area all framed with beautiful arch french doors which open to the pool and central courtyard.

We had an amazing time at Eminence on High - the house is beautiful with priceless views! The kitchen is very well appointed with two gathering rooms and a wrap around porch to take in the beauty. Our group of 8 cooked in most nights and it was more beautiful and relaxing than any restaurant. Christine was very friendly and available if we needed anything. We highly recommend Eminence on High and would definitely plan another stay here!

We have stayed at multiple locations on St John. This house had fantastic views and great outdoor space. Very good breezes and few bugs. The house was very comfortable with a well stocked kitchen. Well located to Coral Bay and the north shore beaches. We'll be back

Beautiful home with unmatched views

We have always wanted to stay in a home on Bordeaux Mountain and this is the finest one by far. The cool temperatures made it a very interesting stay. We went and bought some hoodies for the cool nights. We stayed here two weeks and ended up cooking in all but two nights because the house was so perfect. You must splurge for the heated pool and hot tub! Kitchen is perfectly equipped for any chef to include All Clad pots and pans.

The property is absolutely stunning and was great for two families. The cooks kitchen was such a nice touch…incredible appliances! Views are spectacular and breezes were welcome in the afternoons. We appreciated all of the details and extras!! Of course the road up to the house is bumpy but aren’t they all?!😄 Would definitely stay again!!

We stayed for a week. The home was perfect for six couples. Do you have to heat the pool their ice cold otherwise. It looks like it’s the highest spot in St. John so we had a lot of wind up there but the view is simply stunning and the property is absolutely wonderful.

Fantastic Emminence on High

Our family of 11 had a fantastic stay at Emminence on High in June. The property easily handled our group allowing for privacy and great times in the common areas. There was sufficient parking for 3 Jeeps, The views and breezes were incredible and the location serene and well situated to enjoy all St John has to offer. This is a quality villa and hands down the best we've enjoyed (we liked them all but this place is amazing!) in our 5 trips to St John.

The view was stunning and the space was beautiful for our family of 11.The place advertises as sleeps 12 which it does but you have to pay extra for any persons over 6 . So I believe it should be listed as sleeps 6 with additional cost for carriage house which sleeps 6 more . One of the reasons we chose this place was because it had a hot tub . In several reviews it was stated that the hot tub was not in working order . I specifically gave the host 3 months notice that we were interested in the use of the hot tub. We were informed two days before arrival that the hot tub was not working . Granted they sent someone out twice to try and get it working which we really appreciated but to no avail . So it was slightly disappointing to the entire family . They also advertise a chefs kitchen which was beautiful and a lovely space for all of us to hangout , however the chefs stove does not work . We’ve been to many Vrbo places and I feel like this one was stocked minimally . There was one bath towel per person and 6 beach towels total for the 11 of us . In summary it was a beautiful place, don’t get me wrong . The outside space is beautiful and the dining area was perfect for our family . They also provided an escort from the car barge to the villa which was extremely helpful . The road up to the villa is rocky but we expected that and didn’t mind that at all. The communication with the host was excellent and very timely . We enjoyed the proximity to the national forest as well .

Family Vacation

The pictures do not reflect how nice the property is in person! Every bedroom is nice and plenty of space to spread out. We had 11 adults and really enjoyed the outdoor area, pool and hot tub with excellent sound system! Propery manager, Eddie, very responsive with any problems or requests! We used Owen as a driver a lot and he also made excellent recommendation for boat rental! Use Local Time for best prices and fun captain!

Beautiful Home

Gorgeous home with incredibly views. Hot tub is not functioning and if it were there is an extra charge to use the hot tub and to have the pool heated to a point that you would want to swim in it so make sure you're aware of the extra fees and order before you arrive. Other than that the place is amazing.

Beautiful view. The house was very well equipped and comfortable for guests in the main house. The cottage with two bedrooms was not great. We made it work though. Only other complaint was the add on costs for the 4th and 5th bedrooms and hot tub.

We vacation with our 4 adult children each year-with spouses, there were 8 of us and this year will be a year to remember! The villa is as beautiful as the photos show and the views are breathtaking! It is such a great location-easy access to the entire island. We couldn't have asked for more. The owner of property was very easy to work with and the property manager was fantastic and very helpful upon our arrival. We WILL return to this villa-hopefully sooner rather than later. I left my heart in St John, and I miss waking up to the amazing view every morning!

A perfect week in paradise

We had a wonderful time at this villa. The views were breathtaking! Highlights include sunrises from the master bedroom wraparound balcony, family dinners in the indoor/outdoor second kitchen at the massive table, and cooling off in the pool. As for communication, the property manager and owner were both extremely responsive and helpful. We loved that there were plenty of beach towels and beach chairs, which we took with us daily. Only callouts were that the hot tub, 2nd kitchen stove/grill top, and 2nd kitchen garbage disposal didn't work unfortunately, but we made due with the outdoor grill! Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful Home with Amazing Views

The communication with property manager and house caretaker was great. Eddie was a great host and spent plenty of time getting us familiar with the house and all the great amenities. The views are spectacular and the house is absolutely beautiful! We had two families with a total of 8 people and there was more than enough room for everyone. Although the house is not exactly convenient to the hustle and bustle, it is perfectly situated to get away from the busy areas while still being able to easily access the beaches and still fairly easy access to eating establishments and shopping. A Jeep is absolutely necessary, but that is the case for almost everywhere on the island. There is an extra charge for using the ac in the kitchen and dining area (we did not choose to use it), but we did not need it as long as you open up the windows and doors while in those areas. The breezes through the home are perfect and all the bedrooms have ac so you will be perfectly comfortable. We also did not add the hot tub use while we were there, but I would recommend doing that since the pool is a little chilly (due to being shaded most of the day) and the views from the hot tub would a great way to end the day. The huge patios, porches, etc are perfect for taking in morning sunrises and evening moonlit cocktail hours. The house has beach chairs and floats that we used daily. We highly recommend this beautiful home and the amazing staff that treated us so well for our 7 day stay!

Perfect for our family vacation

Our family of 12 stayed for an awesome week at Eminence on High in December. First, the location is amazing! On top of the Bordeaux mountain ridge at over 1,000 ft elevation, it was 8 degrees cooler than at sea level. The view to the north and east is incredible! The first few days we experienced what the locals call the “Christmas wind” and up there it was blowing hard. After that we had a nice constant breeze. The wind and cooler air would be even more appreciated in warmer months. Located in the middle of the island, it’s closer to some of the snorkeling spots we like and easy to get to anywhere on the island. The road up is good except for about the last 100 yards, so you do need a jeep. The villa itself is stunning. Everything was clean when we arrived. It has beautiful décor, nice furniture, comfortable beds and sheets, plenty of towels, a good washer/dryer, complete cooking supplies and lots of dishes in the main kitchen as well as the party room. There are two refrigerators, a wine cooler and an ice maker. Lots of beach towels and chairs. The heated pool and hot tub were much appreciated on the colder days. We loved the party room for our evening meals and hanging out; the stove in the party room wasn’t working but that was just a minor inconvenience. We look forward to having an opportunity to stay again at Eminence on High Villa.

Slice of Heaven

The house was beautiful. Pictures didn’t do it justice. Yes the drive up is very bumpy, but our Jeeps made it up with no issue. The views and pool were fabulous. Unfortunately the hottub was still out of commission and would have been nice at night as the pool is too cold. We would definitely stay there again. Plenty of room to spread out, kitchen and amenities are great. We did have a strong storm one day that brought water in from the ceiling and the windows in the main hallway. There also seems to be some water damage in the 1st floor bedroom closet. Only other issue were some mice that left their evidence in the mornings. I don’t consider this an issue because you are literally within nature in this home. We saw tons of frogs, birds, unique bugs including a few tarantulas living inside the bromeliads outside. Enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of frogs and wind through the palms every night. The kitchen A/C was a MUST and I’m so happy we purchased it extra. It works VERY well. The solid wood windows and furnishings are astonishing. Overall just really really missing our time spent here and hope to visit again soon! We got ready for our wedding here that occurred on Peace Hill and I’m so happy we chose this home.

All That and several bags of chips!!

The view you guys. The view actually brought me to tears. It's the reason you should book this villa! This was our fourth trip to STJ and each one is better than the one before! This was a trip with 3 families of kids teens and adults. This house was perfect us! We had tons of room to hang out (coffee in the outdoor kitchen each morning for sunrise) before and after the beach! (Evenings on the porch with bourbon and ice cream). The pool was perfectly chilly and refreshing. We were disappointed that the hot tub was inoperable but we survived ;) The beds were comfortable and the AC for the bedrooms was perfect. We loved the outdoor showers and the kitchen was perfectly well stocked for our meals we made each day. The outdoor grill by the pool was put to good use. Oven was awesome. ICE MAKER! was so wonderful we used it every day. The breezes on top of Bordeaux Mountain are just unreal! It was such a nice way to spend our evenings after sun all day at the beach. Beach chairs, towels and coolers were wonderful amenities. Some notes and tips for future renters: If you plan to cook dinner it may be worth the extra $400 to run AC in the kitchen area because the entire kitchen turns into an oven as soon as you turn on the actual oven. There are awesome hall windows that open and get breezy in the kitchen though. It could just be that we are from the South and really like our AC. The HOTTUB WILL NOT be working until at least November of this year. The outdoor kitchen is not permitted for use due to fire codes so even though there is listed two kitchens, the outer area does have a sink and a great dishwasher but no cooking areas. Overall this place was EXCELLENT and we loved our stay here!!!

An Amazing Tropical Getaway

Our group of 8 adults (4 couples) had an amazing week staying at Eminence on High! I cannot speak highly enough about this wonderful home and property. The views from this house were stunning. Christine was so responsive and helpful, and answered all of our questions prior to arrival. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed so we arrived later than expected, but Vincent and Brenda were very accommodating and understanding. The house was extremely clean and well-kept, and there was more than enough space for the 8 of us! The kitchen was beautiful and fully stocked...which was great considering we ate a lot of our meals in! The only trouble we had was an influx of sugar ants, but Vincent was immensely sympathetic and immediately tried to take care of the issue, which was much appreciated! The house truly had everything we could want and more. St. John is a beautiful island. We highly recommend renting a charter boat to explore the island and check out all of the snorkeling spots, hike Ram's Head trail, and lounge on the beach at Cinnamon Bay (the house even comes with beach chairs you can use). Some of the best food spots we went to were Rhumb Lines in Coral Bay, and La Tapa and Rum Hut in Cruz Bay. Also delicious margaritas and nachos at Greengo's! Overall we had an amazing vacation, and can't wait until we can come back!!

We enjoyed our time at Eminence On High!

Eminence On High was a great home away from home. I liked that the kitchen had everything that was needed as we did a LOT of cooking at the villa. We did not venture out in late afternoon because we were worried about finding out way back to the villa after dark. Loved lunch at Miss Lucy's! The view was amazing at the villa! We spent a lot of time using the HEATED pool and hot tub. Heating the pool was well worth the expense. It can get chilly up on top of the mountain but you do not suffer in the heated water! I would definitely recommend this.
