About this property

Trout River Cabin • Secluded Family Forest Retreat

Surrounded by towering pine trees in Sequoia National Forest, the Trout River Cabin offers a serene escape with everything you need for both adventure and relaxation. Situated on a private, wooded 1-acre lot, the cabin backs up to a beautiful trout-producing river with hiking trails and hidden swimming holes nearby. Remodeled in 2022, the cabin includes two cozy living rooms, modern appliances, premium linens, and thoughtful touches throughout. The perfect setting for a secluded mountain getaway!
The space
The recently renovated cabin includes 3 bedrooms, 1 bedroom loft, 2 living rooms, a fully stocked kitchen and 1.5 bathrooms. The bathroom and kitchens were recently remodeled and new bed linens have been provided as of 2024. For your comfort, mini-split systems provide air conditioning as well as heat. For additional heat there are also 2 fireplaces! The cabin also has a wrap-around deck for enjoying the crisp mountain air.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire cabin and its 1-acre of forest land, including private access to the Tule River!
Other things to note
-No Cell Service on the mountain so please download maps prior to arriving
-Camp Nelson is a rural mountain community, so we recommend gassing up and getting all groceries in Porterville prior to arriving
-Access to the river from the backyard may be strenuous down a steep slope. We recommend walking down Coy Flat Drive to the bridge which is a much more gradual walk, and then navigating down towards the river.
