This was a nice, peaceful, and quiet area. The drive up is pretty twisty but not a bad drive in the summer. Seeing the stagg tree, dome rock, and the 100 tree Grove was just as good as Yosemite without the hoardes of people.
We had an amazing time in the Dreamtime cabin. Four of us stayed there for a few days and loved all the decor, cozy comforts, and accessories the place provides (e.g. extra blankets to snuggle in, bean bag chairs, board games, a great fire stove and more)! We also enjoyed walking in the peaceful neighborhood and playing in the snow near the house. The hosts have really thought about every detail to make the cabin truly feel like a getaway with beautiful Australian art and wood work and all the amenities you might need. The kitchen is fully stocked and we loved cooking meals together with the food we brought as well as roasting marshmallows in the fire stove!

One of a kind hospitality… the owners are kind, generous, and incredibly thoughtful, while the management team is both reasonable and respectful. Dreamtime is a haven of comfort, loaded with amenities. Truly a wonderful place for family to explore the Sequoia National Forest as well as the adjacent National Park. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was so nice to just hunker in a cabin in the woods amd see starlight and hear pretty much nothing but birds. The cabin is adorable and homey. The pantry was well stocked amd there was plenty of easily accessible firewood. Just a beautiful time.
There was a snowstorm the day before our reservation and we were concerned about whether we would encounter snowy roads. Fortunately, the information provided in the PDF allowed us to check on road closures ahead of time. Moreover, Jennifer, the property manager was super helpful and even emailed to make sure we had arrived safely.
Once we did arrive, we were so impressed with the cabin. Clean, comfortable and extremely welcoming, with the fire already lit for us. The beds were comfortable and the sheets smelled great! The fully stocked pantry was also nice to see. Although we only stayed two nights, we enjoyed the little time we did spend in the cabin. Don't hesitate to book it... you won't regret it!
It was simply phenomenal and exactly what I needed. The property is a dream come true, if you are into a nice, comfortable, & rustic stay in the mountains. It is an hour away from the nearest town, so come prepared. It is perfect for some quiet relaxation, with lots of outdoor time or reading and listen to music by the wood stove fire. If this is something that interests you, then this is your place. It is clean and tidy and has all your basics and more. The property manager was very responsive and helpful with all what I needed to make it a more than perfect stay. I would return to this property at the drop of a hat. I plan on it.
Simply one of the best stays I had in a long time. Sitting on the patio or by the fire alone, make it every bit the ideal mountain cabin.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It is well-equipped, cozy, and in a serene/quiet location. The check-in instructions were clear, and we appreciated how everything was labelled. Relaxing weekend getaway, would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

beautiful and comfy
Dreamtime is a great place with more amenities than most. Super clean. Very very comfortable with lovely deck (and hammock) overlooking meadow. Lots of books, dvds, (wifi not great---but this is a get-away, right?), cozy furniture, and interesting art. Perfect place to relax and listen to the wind in the trees. Dark skies for star gazing. Very quiet. Owners are accessible and super nice. We love Dreamtime!
Only downside is the area west (190 between Camp Nelson and Ponderosa) has been devastated by 2020 fire. Mountains burned to dirt; most trails closed. Fishing wasn't great and quite dry (as everywhere now). 100 Giants trail open.
ALSO: bring all food. No grocery except tiny one at Camp Nelson, 11 miles down mountain. NO CAMP STORE for forgotten items. Nearby Ponderosa serves burgers only.
Pros: Great property, super organised and well stocked. David is extremely reachable in case of issue. Great neighbourhood. Good communication with owners and the manager overall.
Cons: A bit tedious checkout process. We had to leave the property as if no cleaning is required and the next party can jump in :)
Having to carry trash, but that’s not specific to this property. So, no negative marks on that.
We spotted spiders under the bed linen.
This cosy cabin has plenty of space. We loved the comfy chairs and the big deck surrounded in trees and overlooking a small meadow. The area is beautiful - huge ponderosa pines, cedars and of course the sequoia off of several local trails. We'd been to Sequoia and Kings Canyon before (and loved them), but were looking for fewer crowds (...pandemic...). I wasn't sure Ponderosa/Sequoia Monument would deliver, but it definitely did, and the cabin just made the whole vacation perfect!
This was a super experience! Property was remote and we were so excited to be near the Saquoia National Forest! Trip with family to get out of the heat and it was fantastic! Every thing we needed was there - fully furnished including some cooking items(such as oil and salt). This was absolutely perfect! Well worth the price!
Our family stayed at this cabin at Ponderosa in June 2020. The location cannot be beat! It is so serene and quiet up there, and the weather was amazing! In mid-June when it is really hot where we live, it was cool during the day and almost cold at night - so great! Our contact, Jennifer, was very quick to reply to my emails before our trip. The only reason I didn't give this listing 5 stars is because it wasn't the cleanest rental we've ever stayed at, but overall our family had a wonderful time taking walks and being together in the woods.
The place was beautiful. The house is very comfy. Neighbors were close by. But neighbors are not home. People super friendly. I will just come back for the people. That Cabin had everything and more.

Smashed dreams at Dream Cabin
It has a huge problems with electricity and if you are don't need stove, outside light and hot water for shower, it might be a perfect cabin to stay. Besides no chance to contact with the property owner, but you will be getting inspired emails and may be it will warm you up in the shower.

Stay during 8 to 11 Aug
The electricity shut down many time when we started to cook with the oven every 5-10 min each time we cooked.
The chalet is very nice and well equipped. How ever a bit far from the main touristic places.

Cabin vs driving instructions
Once we got there the cabins was as described warm and inviting. Equipped with everything you would need to enjoy time in the mountains and forest. The fresh powder was so amazing. My grandsons had a great time playing in the snow. Would definitely stay again in the summer month to go hiking.
However the directions were less than detailed. Our 6 hours drive from home ended up being 14 hours and a stay in the hotel because we could locate the cabin. The road is very curvy and the signage was severely lacking. Ended coming back down the mountain to stay in a hotel the first night.
