Very roomy house, especially with a family. Communication with host was excellent. Our adult kids really enjoyed staying in a historical home with its unique personality.
We loved the historical ambiance of this home. Excellent place to spend time at and we were impressed with the authenticity of the home and the horse theme. Host was an awesome communicator and we highly recommend this home.
Love this little place! The house is much bigger than I imagined. Big bedrooms, bathrooms have been updated recently, wonderful kitchen. Character of place amazing and everything one could need. And also outstanding communication with the owner.Just a few blocks from the old down town area, walked everyday. You can't go wrong choosing this one.
Couldn’t ask for a better host! The snacks and pet treats were a thoughtful touch. House was close to everything and had such character and charm. We hated we were only there for a night would have loved checking out the town.
Everything was perfect for our overnight on our way to FL. They had personal touches like snacks, water and treats for furry travelers :) Would stay here again - charming, clean and an enjoyable stay!
Such a charming and cozy place to call home for a few days while visiting the adorable town of Walterboro! The accessibility into town was so easy whether on foot or by car. We were surprised at the spacious interior of this lovely older home with all of the modern amenities like open kitchen and family room area with large screen TV, modern appliances and beautifully updated bathrooms. Out back was a covered patio with seating, ceiling fan and string lights and the garden feel of the back yard was lovely. Robert and Paula could not have been more hospitable in making sure we were comfortable from the moment we arrived until departure. They had a welcome basket with goodies waiting for us and our furbabies, along with bottled waters. The communication level was terrific and offered us great suggestions of the downtown area. If there were more stars, I would give them!
Good communication with host, super responsive. Beautiful property, very big and versatile. Beautiful outdoor spaces. Great location across the street from the park and walking distance to museum, grocery store and wildlife center and arts district. Quiet neighborhood, very relaxing
Charming home. Nicely decorated. If you love older homes this one is very nice. On a street with other beautiful historic homes. Host responded very quickly.
Honestly restored my faith in these type of things. They truly could tell they believed in hospitality to two legged and four legged friends. My daughter loved the record player. Had a wonderful time and refresh before our next travel day.
What an amazing stay. Planning another visit soon Not a complaint but the toilet in the hall bathroom may need a new chain flap etc it ranSome Perfect home away from home
Outstanding experience all the way around! The house is a lovely older home, full of character and warmth. Apart from some traffic noise which can’t really be helped, we enjoyed the quietness of the neighborhood, including the park across the street. The host was an excellent communicator and resolved a small problem with a smoke alarm battery within a few hours of notification. We would not hesitate to stay again or recommend this location to friends and family.
The Metcalfe’s were very responsive to our questions. Everything was as described. We enjoyed our stay in Walterboro at “Horsing Around.” The location was great!
The home felt warm & welcoming. The snacks in the welcome basket were much appreciated. The primary bedroom has a comfortable bed, and the room was very spacious. We enjoyed all the horse decor. Loved walking our dog at night and in the morning as there are many historic homes, a park, and beautiful library nearby. Very close to rt 95, so easy to get to yet quiet and in a nice neighborhood.
Well, let’s put it this way: I came to look at a couple of higher-end properties in Walterboro, and after checking in to “Horsin Around” and spending just one night, both showings were utterly disappointing. I couldn’t wait to get back to my Vrbo! Relaxing back yard with a ‘secret garden’-Older, historic home feel with modern amenities…Fun personal touches everywhere- from books to board games- even an old-school turntable with a collection of vinyl.I’m probably finished with my real estate search in Walterboro, but I’m definitely going to find a reason to come back someday. Five stars all around!
We only stayed in this beautiful home for one night on our way down to Florida. We ended up finding our next vacation rental. The house is perfectly set up to show off its history. If you’re into really cool old houses, this one is for you. The property is extremely well setup. We loved the wrap around front porch. The interior is a lot larger than we expected. We had no issues maneuvering our adult child who is in a wheelchair around in this home. The kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms are wonderfully set up. The decor really ties the place together. I can’t put into words how cool this house was to stay in. It is located in a great area. The host was a joy to deal with from check-in to check-out. That really makes a big difference when a host is this easy and friendly to work with. My family will be back to stay longer and explore what the area has to offer. And to enjoy this wonderful historical house again.
