Had a very good experience with our stay here ! Most importantly the host was very responsive and very helpful as well! We would probably book the same place during our next visit to Chicago! The location was very convenient and close to everywhere else.

Great place and location. Check-in was simple with a code for the electric lock. Everything was clean and the kitchen was excellent, newly remodeled with all the plates, cups, glasses, utensils and cooking equipment we needed. We ran the dishwasher as we were leaving. AC worked great and we were very comfortable in the main floor bedrooms, which was all we needed. One bedroom has its own bathroom and shower, which worked out great when one person got sick. She didn’t have to use our bathroom and spread her germs. We enjoyed the neighborhood and Oak Park very much. Easy access by car or El train to the city of Chicago. Many shops are walkable, several blocks away. We loved doing a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s house and studio!Very responsive owner communicates very clearly to his guests. We would definitely come back.

4/10 Poor

Disliked: Communication
So the first night we were there one of the beds upstairs was broken we had to put the mattress on the floor. I messaged the host and they sent someone however he was not able to fix it and had to order a new frame but would not come in till after we left. So every night we sleep on the floor. On day 2 the ice maker quit making ice. Messaged the host and they wanted me to pull out the fridge check the power and water line. Well the fridge was in a little cubbyhole and I was not going to take responsibility for it in case I broke something. They refused to send someone out for it. I have asked for some sort of compensation for all these and keeping getting told they are waiting to hear from the property owner!

The home is so charming and it was a great place for our girl's trip. Although no one could predict we would be arriving during a large storm event, we arrived with trees and debris down in the neighborhood. However, this house stood the test of mother nature and the city neighbors were all out the next morning making sure the trees and debris were cleared. Coming from Houston, where this type of storm happens to us often, I can appreciate the expeditious attention they took in cleaning up the neighborhood for the safety of the public. The house is situated in a neighborhood where people walk their dogs, families stroll their babies around, and everyone greets each other with a smile and a wave. So, quite quintessential :) Also, the host was proactively reaching out to check to make sure we always knew they were only a message away should we need anything!
