The home was great for our needs. Plenty of room for all of us. Clean. The rustic atmosphere was very comfortable. It was private. We had a very nice stay and would definitely consider staying there again if we are up in that area. We got to meet our host, who was a very nice guy. Do not hesitate to stay at 7 Timbers.

Great trip the North GA mountains

We enjoyed the barn style cabin! We traveled as a family of 9 with a baby, preschooler and family and great grandparents! Everyone was comfortable and we had plenty of space to relax and enjoy.

Daniel was incredibly responsive, and our stay was perfection! The woodstove was truly the heart and hearth of our visit. The main floor is expansive, allowing everyone to find their own favorite cozy spot while also offering plenty of space for all of us to gather together. We loved that the TV wasn't a main focus, but when we did want to watch something, the big TV in the cozy area accommodated everyone. The sleeping spaces are varied and interesting—we loved the unique character! There's a lovely rusticity to the place, yet we had all the amenities and heat we needed. Note to future guests: Be prepared to hear what everyone is doing at night; the walls and floors are thin, with light coming through the floorboards, which we actually found charming and part of the experience. Having photographed a wedding here in 2012, I'd been hoping to return with my own family ever since. I'm so glad we got to spend our belated Thanksgiving here, and we're already planning our next visit!

The place was infested with cockroaches and the pipes from the ceiling of the downstairs bathroom were leaking all over the floor creating a slip hazard. We left as soon as we could and never received a refund.

Great experience and unique property

Our family of 11 visited this property to flee from hurricane Milton. We enjoyed our stay and loved the unique features of the property. We had plenty of room and even had an extra bed. We look forward to visiting again. The property owner was very accommodating and communication was great. Do yourself a favor and book at this property.

Wonderful

We came to the cabin for a men’s fellowship gathering, for 2 nights. The cabin was really rustic and nice. Everything that is on the listing is exactly what you get. We will most definitely be renting the cabin again.

Relaxing

We had 14 people during our stay and there was more than enough room for us all. The steps to the 2 queen beds in the loft area are steep, so keep that in mind when looking to book for your group. The home is comfortable and the wood stove kept us very cozy. The property is beautiful. We did the hike following the stream to the ruins and waterfall and had a great time. The owner was very responsive and helped with any questions we had. He made sure we had plenty of firewood and had everything we needed. 10/10 would recommend and we look forward to coming again!

Loved the place and would of got 5 stars

The place was beautiful the property was amazing Joey the property manger was great with the issues we had and was very apologetic and accommodating! The only issue was there was miscommunication of when we were checking in and it was not clean when we got there and the cleaner rushed to get it done and didn’t do the best of jobs. It didn’t have central heating and air and would get a little warm. But other then that we absolutely loved the place!

Second Visit, and I Hope Not the Last

This is the second time I've stayed there, both times with a group from my church. Pros: * A quirky design esthetic with lots of visual interest. Clearly, a lot of work and love went into designing this place. * Smal improvements since our previous visit two years ago, which shows the place is being maintained. One of those improvements is a nice sound system. * Lots of beds. * LOTS of space to spread out inside. * Close to Atlanta, so you don't spend much time getting there. * Three owls came by one evening when we were sitting outside.Cons: * Not a lot of soundproofing and the upper floors are kind of squeaky, so you'll hear others moving about or talking. This wasn't really a problem for us, however. * Not a lot of places to walk on or near the property, but hiking trails are a short drive away. The place worked very well for our group, and I will be very happy to go back there in the future.

Peaceful and Quiet

For the most part, a nice place. Bring your bug, mosquito and spider spray. Expect bugs in the house as it's kinda like a treehouse as the doors aren't sealed very well and the windows stay open until October sometime. The creek is dried up. If you fear spiders don't book here! The kitchen has nothing but some outdated pots and pans and silverware and some salt and pepper and sugar. A nice few cast iron skillets. It has two refrigerators! That was a plus! 3rd floor bedrooms require a steep climb and low ceilings you have to bend down to get to. But, the beds were comfy and decent bedding. The leather furniture was in good condition. They have had dogs or pets there and dog hair is in the carpet so if you've allergic to dog or cats don't book here! We didn't see a vacuum either. Bring your own cleaning supplies as hardly any was provided. Bring your own towels and toiletries as the towels are older and only hand soap was provided. Not a bad spot! I don't think we would book here again based on there being no creek and we really desired that as one of the amenities as to why we booked! There's no central air conditioning, however outside of fall/winter I could imagine it being hot. If you require central air, don't book this! But, otherwise not bad! We still enjoyed ourselves!

Big secluded & comfortable

We rented this cabin for Thanksgiving with our families. We loved all of the different seating options and be able to gather around the old wood stove. Even though it was in the 30s some mornings the house stayed very warm with the fireplace and wall heaters! We also really loved that the kitchen had 2 fridges, 2 ovens and 2 dishwashers! This made Thanksgiving cooking and cleaning so much easier! If you are looking for a big family/friends/retreat this is your place!

Holy Spirit Retreat Weekend

There was a group of 15 of us from a Bible study group and there was plenty of room. The host was more than helpful and very kind. He came out to show us how to start the wood burning stove and was very patient. The kitchen was clean and enough room for our kitchen chefs to work! Having the grill was an added bonus. There was plenty of parking room and if you’re looking for a real woods, barn cabin, old time feel.. this is a good place!

Awesome House!!!!!

Very funky and fabulous! We loved looking at all the decor all around the house/barn. Everything was easy to find and we cooked all of our meals. Also enjoyed the outdoor fire pit. Even the dogs had an amazing time. The brand new gas grill cooked our steaks and chicken perfectly. Very private and quiet. We also enjoyed visiting the nearby towns of Talking Rock and Jasper.

Post and Beam in Woods

Read the listing ! This is a quasi Post and Beam in the GA woods. Quasi as it appears to have had non P&B elements added. Did not care as it suited 9 of us well. You will note from the listing that there is NO AC. There are 3 bedrooms with window units and the main floor has a portable unit which has had exhaust air and water ducted outside side, so no reservoirs to empty. However there are two notices posted on machine and wall warning not to run more than 3 hours at a time or at night. There are open flame propane heaters and a wood stove. A beam on wall indicates the place is circa early 2000's. Why no formal HVAC ? Do not know. We were there for 3 rainy and 4 sunny days in late June. First floor was comfortable entire time temp wise. Unconditioned second floor space (bunk and full bed behind curtains) warm but tolerable. Third floor rooms/beds too hot in daytime for use. Lots of space. Eclectic "wall hangers" al la Cracker Barrel. Nice second floor covered deck. Open deck on main floor with bbq. Portable fire pit on drive. You are 60 minutes from Atlanta. Everything you would need in regards to grocery, places to eat etc available. The place is 7 miles outside town down a deep woods 1/8 mile drive. The Pizza folks delivered. However it is secluded. I enjoyed it. Relative Cons: It is in the GA woods. Expect (in summer) heat, humidity, bugs. Actual Cons: Most cookware is trashed, should be hanging on wall at Cracker Barrel. Hit Wal-Mart for a spaghetti pot. Knives have been abused, sharps will not cut butter. There is a honing rod, but pretty worn. There are two ovens, one gas one electric. Notice posted not to use gas oven. Tubs are old fashioned. As in 1900's. If you have difficulty getting in and out of a 24 inch high tub or are unstable You may want a cane to help. The furniture is old but functional. The ladies were unhappy with cleanliness. Contact folks told us they had a heck of a time cleanning up for us as last group trashed place. My big gripe was garbage. Two bins on second floor deck, which you bring down and put inside front door on leaving, along with excess bagged trash. Trip down the stairs did my back no good and by day four trash bags littered front door area. Most places I have been have a hefty lockable wood corral outside for bins, critter proofed as per local fauna. Would I go back, sure. Based on pics, reviews and listing pretty much got what I expected. Once out of woods vistas are great and there is plenty to do.

Unique Cabin for Family Getaway

My family of 13 really enjoyed our stay at 7 Timbers! The property is beautiful, and the cabin is extraordinary and full of history. The kids loved the loft, and the adults spent plenty of time around the old wood burning stove. The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and utensils, and there are tons of linens, blankets and pillows. All you need is groceries and paper products. Be sure to grab a bag of ice, for the freezer, as the ice maker doesn’t work. If you skipped the property description and went straight to the reviews (like I did), be aware that there is no central heat and air. You WILL need to use the wood heater in the colder months, but the manager will provide wood for an extra fee. Speaking of the manager, he is great to work with and communicates wonderfully. We hope to be back!

Thanksgiving Retreat

We cooked Thanksgiving dinner at 7 Timbers and we were able to put together a feast with the cooking equipment in the kitchen--LOVED having two refrigerators and two dish washers. We noticed the kitchen lacked a large stock pot (hint, hint), but we didn't need it for our preparations. There were enough towels and beds, and the cabin was nicely decorated with a few fall touches--tablecloths and some decorations. Everything was very conveniently labeled for light switches and where things were placed in the kitchen cabinets. We LOVED all of the interesting items on display in the cabin! We were lucky the weather was nice enough to take several walks in the area. The property is BEAUTIFUL including a creek with falls and ruins. (We didn't get to see ruins up close. It would have been nice to know the history of those ruins). All in all, we had a wonderful stay at 7 Timbers!
