This is our family home and is an ideal place to take in the city, with or without kids and pets. Our home is spread across three levels on a leafy, safe Upper West Side street. We have an elevator that you could also use to bring up groceries, luggage and deliveries into the home.
Our unit has a unique lay out - master bedroom, hallway, kids playroom and spacious office are on the ground floor. Step through our master bedroom's bathroom and you will enter a peaceful, private backyard where you can work, eat and entertain.
Back through the apartment - or upstairs via outdoor steps in the backyard - you will find our light-filled living room, with a comfortable, new couch and several arm chairs. Our adjacent dining area and open kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need to cook and enjoy your meals.
We have a new dishwasher, and top of the line stove, microwave and fridge. Down the hallway, you will find two bathrooms, a new washer/dryer unit, and two bedrooms that overlook our quiet street.
Our fully furnished lower level is a great place to hang out and watch a movie or play video games on our large TV. There is also a separate living area there with a private skylight.
Our home is a favorite for children, with the lofted play areas in the two upstairs bedrooms and a playroom equipped with a climbing wall and swing.
This area cannot be beat - you are steps away from Broadway and two blocks from the 1 train. Half a block down you will find beautiful Riverside Park. And up and down Broadway there is a plethora of delicious, local restaurants, wine bars, coffee shops and two grocery stores, all within two blocks.

Hi! We are Amy and Sam. We are native New Yorkers who love exploring all that the city has to offer. We are raising our 2 kids in the city and love that our home combines the best of both worlds -- proximity to fantastic playgrounds, restaurants, schools and more, but without the intense hustle and bustle of other parts of the city. While this is our home throughout most of the year, we spend our summers in New England.
Why they chose this property
We are right on the border of Morningside Heights, where Columbia University is located, and the Upper West Side, known for its tree-lined, beautiful streets and townhomes, as well as a lively shopping and dining culture. Our neighborhood is extremely family friendly, pretty and low key. We know our neighbors and the local baristas at the coffee shops - it's a place that really feels like a community.
We love how if you walk either way up or down Broadway, you are never far from a delicious cup of coffee, ice cream and lunch or dinner option. We like the convenience of the grocery stores, bus and train lines. And you cannot beat the sunsets and early morning walks in nearby Riverside Park, a three-level park that offers outdoor dining, playgrounds, dog parks and large grassy fields.
What makes this property unique
Our apartment is unusually sized for Manhattan and extremely spacious. One reason we loved this place initially was because of how unique the character is - think very tall ceilings, beautiful wooden floors. Another major draw is our two-story outdoor space, and amazing proximity to both Riverside and Central parks.
Our place is a favorite for visiting relatives and friends, because it is so comfortable for a group of people to stay at one time. There are many little nooks and crannies for kids to run and play in. It is also on a very quiet, serene street that feels safe, no matter the time or day.
