About this property

Private Suite and Bath with separate entrance, art filled and % to Charity

Peaceful quiet art-filled suite with private back porch entrance, queen bed, private bathroom with shower (no tub), small desk, wifi, tv, off-street parking. The suite is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. There is a microwave, refrig, tea/coffee, and snacks. Feel free to enjoy the back deck, relax in the hammock chair and listen to the birds and watch the squirrels (and sometimes deer in the front yard). This is a FRAGRANCE FREE home; all bathroom products are unscented. Please do not use any perfumed products during your stay out of courtesy to other chemically sensitive guests.

The house is in wooded Olympia's Westside close to downtown, Evergreen College, restaurants and shopping and within 5 blocks to westside food coop, 2 bus stops and nature trail down to the waterfront and downtown Olympia. Everything you need is within a mile or less, yet the house is secluded, quiet and surrounded by trees. I've been a 5 star host over 12 years.

This suite is totally private and the door is accessed through the gate on the right, down a walkway on the side of the house. Solar lights guide you to the back porch and your own front door with coded keypad. The ground is well-lit and paved.

Good Karma: 10 % are divided by 2 non-profits: Treesisters non profit in the UK and LIHI for the Homeless in Olympia.

I also offer a tranquil Squaxin Park walk to listen to trees sing and explain tree communication and mindful connection to forests and you get a discount if you request a booking in your reservation!

I stayed for 4 nights at the property. it was a wonderful location.. not far from town, but far enough to be quiet and private.The place was well appointed with coffee and snacks. Very clean, very comfortable.It had everything that I needed.I have to mention the bed, because it was very so very comfortable and I slept like a baby. I would definitely recommend this place! 5 stars

I had a wonderful stay in my private suite. Host made herself available immediately if I had any questions or needed anything. Check-in and check-out were easy with explicit instructions provided, room was clean and contained all necessary essentials for my stay. Neighborhood was safe and quiet. I would definitely stay again. I appreciated host’s attention to being environmentally conscious.

Highly recommend this guest room! So cozy, perfectly appointed and in a great location. It feels like a retreat space in the forest. I really appreciated the generous offer of a % of proceeds to non-profits to support the community forests and people.

Easily accessed via keypad on the door.I do want to call attention to the fact that the 'kitchenette' area does not have a separate sink, so the bathroom sink is the primary sink for all purposes. And the mini-fridge could not quite accommodate all the breakfast items (yogurt, juice, hard-boiled eggs) we had brought for the week. This is not intended as a complaint -- rather it is information to help future guests with their planning.Julie was helpful and responsive via text and our overall experience was very pleasant.

Peaceful, clean, quiet, and walkable!

We loved staying at Julie's place while visiting family in Olympia. The space is inviting, restful, and super clean (Julie uses only unscented products, which we really appreciate!). Lots of birdsong in a quiet, bikeable, walkable neighborhood close to coffee shop, co-op market, Riverside Park, and only a 3-min drive to downtown. Julie is an extremely friendly and respectful host who also offers an incredible tree singing tour in the forest of Squaxin Park that we will definitely book next time we're in town. We hope to stay with Julie again when we do!!!

I liked the idea of being semi rural but didn’t enjoy the hardships that came with it . I had to park far from entrance and drag my suitcase to the back fence/gate and all around back of the house which was poorly lite. The room was musty smelling and not comfortable to stay in. The only chair and bed were uncomfortable . The owner was adamant about her guests being sent free. I stated I have allergies as well so I was uncomfortable that she had double carpets in the room and hanging over the bed. I was upset when I came home one evening and she had entered the room and opened the windows. Owner would forget to put outside lights on some evenings which would make it difficult to get back in my room . It was very cold some evenings and she wouldn’t put the heat on unless asked . I spoke to her about some of these things but I feel she is just renting to make the money

Nice location. Quiet, easy parking and safe. We enjoyed being in the backyard. The apartment was very musty. We were very glad the weather allowed us to keep the windows open. The bed was advertised as a queen. We have a queen. I'd say it was a full. It was also quite soft. The most comfortable seating were the chairs outside.
