Escape to this cozy studio cabin in Big Bear's Village Area, just a 10-minute walk from Big Bear Lake. This charming 400+ sq ft retreat features a wood-burning fireplace, fully fenced backyard and a convenient location near The Village, lake and hiking trails.

Enjoy a simple mountain getaway made for two. Spend your days exploring Big Bear, walk to the lake or Village, then return to relax by the fireplace, enjoy a BBQ in the backyard or unwind in the peaceful surroundings.

Inside the cabin
The warm, wood-paneled living area features comfortable seating, a TV and a beautiful wood-burning fireplace stove, creating a cozy atmosphere on chilly mountain evenings. A dining table provides a comfortable spot for intimate meals.

The compact kitchen is fully equipped for easy meal preparation, with a stove and oven, microwave, retro-style refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and blender. Pots, pans and dishes are provided.

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Turn the thermostat to 55 degrees. Do not turn off heaters, may result in frozen pipes. Cabins with a hot tub must have jets shut off, cover on and locked. Wash, dry, and put away all dishes.
Remove all trash and take to the appropriate trash site location. See confirmation for address. Trash removal is the City/County Law and not our rule.
Text us at 909-403-3217 upon departure and leave the name of the cabin. Report any damages or information we should be aware of about the property.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Wash all dishes.
Per City/County ordinance, garbage must be taken by the guest to one of the locations listed on your confirmation.

Highland Hideaway (site and hosts) were excellent. Communication was effective and kind; directions to and within the cabin were helpful. Would recommend for your Big Bear getaway and for easy access to town and many local trails.

It's small less than 500 sq ft, but just perfect for two people. Our dog was enamored with the back yard. He never saw so many squirrels and rabbits! Place is clean and area is quite, close to a Mexican restaurant we love. Would highly recommend.

Highland Hideaway B-Day getaway

This cabin walks the line between Rustic and Rundown. The TV and appliances all worked. The doors and windows need replacing. The window nearest the bed could not be used because the screen was falling apart. We checked out a day early. We would not stay in this cabin again.

I like my two days trip here, especially the fully fenced back year, I have a small dog, he could run anywhere he wants in such a big snow backyard.

Hideaway Retreat

We truly enjoyed our weekend away. It was very relaxing and fun for us and our pup. The huge backyard was a plus for him to enjoy, as well as close walk to hikes.

Nice cabin

The cabin is very cute and loved the fenced backyard for my little dogs. Great place to get away and plenty of places to take your dogs for a walk. Enjoyed my stay and the cabin had everything needed.

Big Bear Getaway

This is my second time at the cabin. It is perfect for the pups and a few days getaway. It was clean,and the right size for two. My only complaint is that the door was hard to open and the DVD player did not work, but I notified the management. The level of communication was terrific. I would definitely stay here again.

Comfy cabin with a huge yard

This was the perfect little cabin for my girlfriend and two dogs. It is super close to everything in town and quiet. The yard was fantastic for our two dogs to explore and play.

Super relaxing

This was my first solo trip and I took my dog with me. The cabin was absolutely perfect for a short getaway. It was clean, safe, and my dog absolutely loved the fenced backyard which was a nice peace of mind for me as well. Would come back for sure!

Very friendly and helpful staff. We had an issue with the initial cabin (hence the rating), but they switched us to a great alternative quickly and without issue.

Great weekend getaway

Great place to stay for 2 people for the weekend. The only downfall was the shower head was ~2.5 feet from the ground. The shower head was removable but was not the most ideal shower especially when it’s cold and snowing out.

Great Back Yard

Massive fences in yard. Our Husky loved the snow banks. Kind of an amazing aspect to the property in this location.

Great snowy stay in the mountains

Overall enjoyable property for our stay. The backyard was great for our pup and the Cool Cabin Staff was very reliable in assisting us acquire some necessary items that weren't at the cabin (soup pot, snow shovel). The description of this property is accurate and the fireplace is still inoperable; however, the furnace kept the place nice and toasty, even during the power outage that occurred during the snow storm. Great location and easy to access.

Good location

Cabin was just like the picture, nice backyard for our poochies to explore. It could use new rugs and carpet. It had a strong unpleasant smell glad I had a candle to help with that. The kitchen was well stocked with all we needed for our stay.

Great cabin with large yard

The Highland Hideaway was great! It is a cozy, studio-style cabin with everything you need for a weekend in Big Bear. Our dog loved playing in the snow in the fenced yard. Big Bear Cool Cabins was very helpful and communicative. They even drove by and plowed the snow in front of our driveway after we got 11 inches of snow!
