The location provides exceptional recreational opportunities. There are over 250 miles of hiking trails in the Cheoah District of the Nantahala National Forest. Hike within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, nearby Appalachian Trail and among the ancient trees of Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest.

This part of North Carolina is famous for its scenic mountain drives that include the Cherohala Skyway and Highway 129 Tail of the Dragon.

The lake has a variety of fish including small mouth bass, large mouth bass, walleye, crappie, bream, and lake trout. Santeetlah Marina is the only full-service marina on a lake that has 76 miles of forested shoreline. The surrounding mountains dip right down to the waterline, Approximately a mile from the town is Cheoah Point Recreation Area, which has developed swimming, camping, and picnic facilities as well as a public boat ramp.

Parking: Paved road all the way to the cabin, with no issues even in winter. Loads of flat parking at the cabin for several cars and we can accommodate trailers. please ask us about any oversized parking prior to booking.

Minimum age for primary renter is 25. No large gatherings or parties. No smoking/vaping in or around the property. NOTE: We allow dogs upon request and approval with $150 fee per pet - 2 PET MAXIMUM upon approval!! Any pet must be crated if left alone at the property & not allowed on the furniture or beds - if rules are not followed and additional cleaning is required an additional cleaning fee will be charged. Quiet time starts at 11PM. Please turn off outdoor lights when not in use. We have a 6 person maximum.
