Nice home. Great place to hang out for a few days while visiting VMI. Very spacious. Room for everyone to have some privacy. Very clean. Kitchen stocked with equipment. Nice grounds and great views from the home.
Stayed here two nights for our daughter's graduation and it worked great. With 7 of us, it was nice to have a place large enough to stay without feeling cramped.
This was a fun house to stay in. Love the mid century quirkiness of the house and the decor. The amount of books on the shelves was a,mazing. The view were awesome. The location to Lexington was great.
The house was not quite ready for us. We called our Guest Contact and he immediately came over and corrected the situation . Comfortable house with lots of room for the three of us, myself, wife and adult son who we met up with for his birthday and the Thanksgiving week. Beautiful scenery, lots of places to visit and restaurants too. We had a great time!
I stayed here with a group of friends and it was perfect for a group of 4 people (I can imagine it'd also be totally fine for 8 people if they're couples). Comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, lots of seating and chill space, etc. It was truly great! The kitchen had some food in the cabinets and lots of pots/pans/spices for cooking. The house is also really close to Boxerwood, which is a beautiful educational space that also has walking paths open to the public!

Run the Chessie- overnight stay
It was exactly as pictures shown online. Location was very convenient. Enough beds and baths for the group to be comfortable. The property has a great view from the screened porch.
The house had a musty smell and needed a thorough cleaning. There was Dust accumulations under beds, stains on furniture. We found a snake skin in the mechanical closet.
The beds were extremely uncomfortable and old, as well as the furniture. We like the quirkiness of the home but it needed some maintenance. One of the twin beds had no frame at all and a futon does not make a bed.
I attended a family wedding in Lexington from Oct. 17th - Oct. 20th. The check-in process was very easy.
The house was spacious and accommodated my family well. There was an ample supply of towels, bed linens, blankets and extra pillows. The kitchen was fully stocked and equipped.
My favorite part of the house was the screened porch and the spectacular views it offered of the property and the mountains beyond. It was quiet and peaceful, which I appreciated.
Check-out instructions were clear and easy to follow.
I enjoyed my stay in this house and it offered all of the components needed for my stay to be comfortable.

Over all the experience was very disappointing. It was adequate but not a place I would come back to. Every dish, pot or utensil pulled out had to be rewashed before use. There was a very musty smell and numerous cobwebs. The house had virtually no insulation. Folding door on one bathroom fell off track. A skunk smell outside was very present indoors during the night. There was one roll of toilet paper and one partial roll for three bathrooms. After purchasing scented candles, toilet paper and paper towels it was ok.
We stayed for a long weekend. Loved the location, close to everything!! Somewhat dated house, but very clean and nice. Grounds were beautiful and the views were awesome, deer in the yard every morning. We had a great stay!!
Good location, nice neighborhood. Each had own bedroom, with 3 full bathrooms. The furniture and kitchen are dated, but the beds were comfy. Enjoyed the big dining room table for games, wine and laughs. Place had all we needed for our stay.
I rented this house for spring break with my grandchildren we took a day trip to Virginia safari park and to the Natural Bridge. We enjoyed the house very much, the children especially my three-year-old grandson loved the big yard and the wide driveway to run his scooter on. I would believe that my only suggestion would be to possibly replace the mattresses on the bed they do seem quite old and the wicker chairs in the living room could be replaced with something just a little more comfortable. Overall we had a wonderful time and I would definitely rent this house again
The house was exactly what we needed for a large group participating in the Virginia Horse Trials. The kitchen was well stocked to be able to cook a full dinner for eight adults. Though furniture is dated, it was clean and serviceable. Thanks for sharing your place with us.

Will definitely stay again
The home and property are exactly as described and pictured. The home, while older, is very well maintained. It was perfect for our multi-family large group. Kitchen was very well stocked including some spices in case you need them!!
Very close to everything in Lexington and the Virginia Horse Center. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be back again!

Dated
While it fit our needs for Parent's Weekend, this home is very dated. The beds are doubles so it is a bit cozy for 2 people. The owner clearly has pets as there was a fair amount of hair on the futon and the blankets in the bedroom smelled like dog. The setting is beautiful and very peaceful.

Great place for a group
House was super spacious. Perfect for our large group. We loved the outporch bedroom, it was great for sleeping and hanging out. The screened in porch was perfect for relaxing and watching the deer wander around the yard. Pretty much all supplies were included which was great. Bathrooms and bedrooms were clean and neat. Definitely was an older house that seems to sit vacant fairly often. It had a feel and sort of musty smell similar to many cabins I have been in. But overall a great place especially for the price. Also in a fabulous location. Country views in a quiet neighborhood but only a couple minutes of lots to see and do in Lexington. Only about a 15 minute drive to natural bridge and all the sights thrre there as well.
