The Space:
Nestled in the stunning landscapes of West Virginia, The Retreat at Cooper Mountain offers a unique blend of comfort and adventure. The dome's distinctive architecture features panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, providing an ideal backdrop for relaxation and exploration. Meanwhile, the cozy chalet combines rustic charm with modern amenities, making it a perfect retreat for families and groups. Whether you're hiking the nearby trails or unwinding under the stars, this enchanting getaway promises an unforgettable experience in nature.

The Retreat at Cooper Mountain includes four properties that can collectively sleep up to 12 people:

The cozy chalet cabin, Hickory Hill, includes:
- Two bedrooms, both with queen beds
- Two full bathrooms
- Kitchen with major appliances (including dishwasher, microwave, and fridge) and island, perfect for hanging out while cooking
- Sitting area with beautiful views, perfect for reading or relaxing with a glass of wine
- Fire Pit with plenty of seating for the whole gang

3 Luxe Glamping domes
Serenity Base & Stargazer each include:
- 1 king bed each (it’s very comfortable and large)

Aurora
- 1 king bed and 1 queen bed (loft style)

Each dome is separately outfitted with its own private outdoor space, and also includes the following in the interior, as well:
-An indoor full bathroom with a shower
- A well-equipped kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster oven, & coffee maker
- Smart TV where you can quickly sign in to your favorite streaming service
- WiFi strong enough for streaming movies and taking video calls
- Portable AC and heat to keep you comfortable

Outside at each dome you’ll also find:
- A new hot tub, perfect for relaxing after an afternoon hike
- Deck with mountain-view seating
- Outside fire pit with plenty of seating
- Propane Grill, perfect for taking in the great outdoors

(By the way, we do also allow each individual property to be booked separately. If the entire The Retreat at Cooper Mountain isn’t available during your dates, the chalet (Hickory Hill) or individual domes (Aurora, Stargazer and Serenity Base) may still be available. Please message us if you’re interested and we’d be happy to help!)

Between exploring the unique features of our luxe domes and enjoying the wooded, mountainside vista, The Retreat at Cooper Mountain is the perfect vacation spot. The Retreat at Cooper Mountain is adjacent to a 37-acre private nature preserve, with plenty of hiking trails and areas to explore.

Our domes are tucked into the mountains, offering a truly unique and peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. Unlike a traditional home, domes aren’t sealed in the same way, so you may occasionally spot a bug or two inside. While this isn’t typically an issue for most of the year, you might see more small insects—like crickets—during early spring and summer.

Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!

We do our best to manage this with regular treatments and thorough cleanings, but a few curious visitors may still sneak in. If you're looking for pristine hotel-like conditions, this might not be the right fit—but if you love the outdoors and a bit of adventure, you'll feel right at home!

In addition, you’re about 20 minutes away from nearly countless wilderness attractions, including whitewater rafting at Pleasantdale’s Tearcoat Creek, lake swimming at Buffalo Gap Retreat in Capon Bridge, hunting and fishing within the 400-acre forest of the Edwards Run Wildlife Management Area, hiking on the Tuscarora Trail, and the Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad.
