About this property

Traditional cottage in historic trinity

Old world meets new deep in the heart of Trinity, Newfoundland. This beautifully refurbished home, rumoured to be over two hundred years old, maintains all of its character with original floorboards and antique windows, but has been updated with all the modern amenities you'll need to enjoy your stay. It is fittingly perched on a hillside overlooking the popular tourist town. Whether you're nestled up next to the wood stove or lounging outside on the large deck with a book from a stocked library of Newfoundland writers, you'll find yourself sinking into the house just as the light sinks into the bay at dusk. The house is adorned with Newfoundland relics, and the walls showcase a wide selection of notable art for your viewing pleasure, unless you become distracted by the scenic views framed by each window throughout the house. The main level features an open-concept living and dining room area with a spacious kitchen and bathroom on the same level. Upstairs features two sizeable bedrooms with plush queen beds, a half bath and a loft that includes a sitting area, writing desk and two cozy twin beds.

Trinity is like a living historical village and we loved exploring the Bonavista peninsula and going to see the puffins at Elliston. The house is full of character (slanted floors and hand hewn floor boards through which you can peer down to the kitchen) and has a good selection of books. The view is also lovely and you can look out to the ocean from the top sitting room.

Staying in this lovely little house feels like stepping back in time. Can’t say enough about how amazing it was to stay here. Location was perfect, view of the lighthouse in the early morning mist and listening to the comforting foghorn in the distance was good for the soul. The beautiful book that the host gifted to us was a lovely surprise. The energy in this gem of a place feels like a warm hug from your favorite Nan. We will be back!

Whales and Puffins

Trinity is a great spot if you’re looking for all things nature. We used this quaint and cosy heritage home as a base to go whale watching and puffin spotting. But there is so much more in the area. Restored homes, museums, trails, tours, restaurants, and excellent chocolate! We are 4 senior women with different personalties but we all agreed we’d return here again, in a heart beat.

From Alberta.

The house was located in an excellent place within Trinity. The walls were decorated with many intesting and artistic paintings and pieces of art that presented a historical interpretation of the area and Newfoundland in general. Received a gift of a beautiful presentations by a local artist. All was comfortable and clean. We did not use the cooking facilities but they looked very satisfactory.

Beautiful Location

We loved every minute of our stay. The house is super clean and charmingly quirky. Trinity is a colorful village to explore. Close enough to Elliston and the puffin viewing area and the Skerwink Trail. Would certainly stay here again.

Great property and location

What a lovely spot. A great heritage home, with an amazing view and all the necessities. The kitchen was one of the best equipped properties I’ve stayed in, it was very clean, well maintained, great location to walk everywhere. We will be trying to book again for next year.

Trinity by the Sea

This turn-of-the-century house was a step back to the heyday of Trinity. It was very nostalgic, serene and laid back. All the reasons for our vacation. We plan to return and will not hesitate to stay in the orange house again.

historic charmer a highlight of our trip

We have never stayed in a historic home before, and this one is so very charming, clean, and comfortable. The location was perfect for our adventures on the Bonavista Peninsula; and we really enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants, shops, and all that Trinity has to offer from this house. The views from this house were amazing as well. Check in and out were very easy, communication with the host was excellent. Highly recommend.

Charming Trinity house!

The orange house was a delightful house in which to spend our two nights in Trinity. Beautiful views from all the windows and a lovely large deck. The interior was absolutely charming - dusty blue trim against white walls made for a bright, cheerful space. Comfortable sitting room, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds - couldn’t ask for more. Highly recommended!

We were very happy with the property. Loved the house itself, the age, style, decor and the beautiful art work. It was very cosy and inviting. We did have a bit of a problem figuring out how to turn shower on. Perhaps a note of instruction ( or maybe we were the only ones!)
