We enjoyed our stay at Cape San Blas. It's has an absolutely lovely beach, pool, and the bay is full of fun sea creatures. The house however is an outdated property that could use some updates throughout. The biggest disappointment of the trip was the pet hair that was on the couches, bedspreads, and floor of the condo upon our arrival. We spent a good deal of time cleaning the house. I asked the owner to refund the 150 cleaning fee for our troubles, but this was not honored. The positive things about the house was that the beach supplies closet was full of chairs, beach toys, wagons, etc. so it was nice to not have to bring all of that along. The owner gave very clear instructions for check-in and check-out. The house code works great and the proximity to the pool and the beach are awesome.
The room was wonderful, clean, and accommodating and the beach was perfect. We came with 4 other families who stayed on the property too and we all had the best experiences. We will definitely stay again!
This condo is a great beach vacation spot. It is very close to the beach and the outdoor hose/shower made cleaning up extremely helpful. Especially with our dog.
The home is in a great location with pool and other activities. It’s in a very short proximity to walk down to the beach or drive over to the state park. We had some issues arise, but the host was able to resolve them fairly.

We enjoyed our stay. Fantastic location within easy walking distance to the beach and short distance to both of the community pools. The upstairs could use some updating, but overall, we enjoyed our stay and everything worked just fine while we were there.
We love our family vacations here. The unit is beautiful and the location is perfect! Lovely beach view even from the porches !
Supplies and great local food is close by and yet the awesome state park is right next door. Can't beat it !

We had a nice getaway for a few short days during spring break. It was really cold and windy so we didn’t get to enjoy much of the beach and pool but maybe next time!
We arrived at check in time to a beautiful outlook to the ocean from the master bedroom! So beautiful! We brought our chiweenie to the beach for the first time and she loved it! Cape s san blas is so speacial to us and we will be back each year!each year !! absolutely

Cape San Blas is a terrific place to vacation, especially if you have a dog that likes strolling on the beach. We were very happy with the VRBO and would recommend it. It was really nice to have lots of beach chairs and equipment available. Tennis right across the street for tennis players. The only hick-up was that the living room TV didn't work, but sunsets make for better viewing!

Hi,
We are sorry the tv went out during your stay! The owner did order and ship one, but unfortunately, it did not arrive until after your stay ended. We are glad you enjoyed the sunsets - they are amazing on the north end of the Cape and it makes for great scenery and pictures when watching the sunsets over the gazebo!
Have a great day!

Fantastic location. Beautiful views and great beach. Water was warm. Door lock needs work.
We really enjoyed our stay. Our dog struggled with the stairs, but he is getting older. The front door lock didn’t always work right, but it could be user error on our part. Skully’s is fantastic for dinner. They offer a drink on the porch and then enjoy your food there or take it home. We will be back.
This was our first time staying on Cape San Blas. The condo had a peek-a-boo view of the ocean which was nice. We enjoyed the porches overlooking the green space. However, the condo gave the feeling of being owned by a management company and not a family (odd mismatched decor, frames on walls with no pictures in them). The condo was dirty in the corners and the kitchen had ann odor (disposal maybe?). Although the primary bedroom is on the 3rd level by itself, there is no door to close off the bedroom from the stairs. I will say the beds were all very comfortable! The beach was pretty crowded with it being in front of two large condo complexes. Just something to consider.
Loved the location! Condo had everything we needed. Only drawback was the stairs for my husband he had back surgery and knee replacement last year. With 2 flights of stairs it was hard at times. But it’s view was easy on the eyes. Pool and tennis courts were wonderful. Our beds were very comfortable. It’s a good place to stay.
Misleading amenities description and unacceptable maintenence and housekeeping conditions.
The location of the unit is better that what is described in the listing. Thats where it ends. The housekeeping conditions were unacceptable. Light bulbs were out, oven was filthy, sliding doors were barely functional and filthy. The gas grill was rusted, filthy and unusable. The list could go on.....

Blue Star
Cons - dead bird on deck, dead roach in laundry room, sink in master bath did not drain, no water pressure in master bath shower, extremely squeaky master bed frame, dirty looking carpet, heated pool was not heated.
Pros- short walk to the beach, view of the Gulf, easy checkin/check out
Ok for a short stay, but needs to have some maintenance and issues fixed.
The check in process was easy and the listing was as advertised. The carpet through the house is dirty and damaged. It makes one not want to take their shoes off inside, as the carpet seems worse than what may be on your shoes.
The grill on the porch also needs replacing. The heat is hard to regulate and will burn your food quickly if you don't keep an eye on it.
Other than that the house is lovely. Lots of space and items you can use for the beach. Large fridge, comfy beds. Short walk to the beach.

Hi,
The owner has been trying to get time blocked to replace all carpeting in the property with LVP. I am happy to say the installation is now almost ready (they are waiting for parts (end caps) to complete the stairs and it will be complete! We hope you will come back and see it soon!

Beware
Beware this place has black mold in the vents. This was communicated to have cleaned. By the end of the week, two of us were congested with headaches. Also the carpet is dirty with animal stains. On the other hand, this place has a great location, if they can get it cleaned up.

We appreciate your comments. The vents were replaced by the A/C company that services the unit. They did not find black mold. The owner has quotes regarding replacing flooring, but it has been a very busy high season and timing has not been determined. We take every guest concern seriously and continuously work to improve!

Bunk bed bottom bed fell to floor while kid was sleeping. Concern for integrity of top bunk kids noticed crack on our first day. Outside shower not hooked up. Lock on front door would work sometimes. We used the key. Trash can lid missing. Otherwise I loved the view from this place. My family had a wonderful time.
Check in and communication was effective. Location and view was great. Contract required to finalize booking. Carpets on stairs and main bedroom needs replacement. Bathroom fittings are outdated and in need of maintenence. Kitchen had no wash cloth/spunge to wipe surfaces. Grill was very dirty and had no way to clean nor tongs for grilling. Cupboards untidy and utensils, pots & pans scattered across all over. the kitchen. Porch furniture in dire need of cleaning. Dirty, full ashtray on porch..

This place is rough, we checked in and the first thing you see is torn and missing carpet. During our 3 day stay we had to use every towel and bucket that could carry water with to contain the roof leaks.. called property manager they refused to do a thing said let me refund you. Not an offer for help nobody came to clean and guess what no refund came.
Run This place is DIRTY AND WORN OUT, VERY SMALL AND OUTDATED

Respectfully, during your 3 night stay, a leak started during a very short heavy thunderstorm. We immediately responded and determined that the leak was roof related. We immediately notified the owner who was due to come into the unit at your exit. The rain stopped within 1 hour. During that call, we offered you a full refund if you planned to leave, including the night you had already stayed and all fees. You also told us you had already cleaned up any water from the leak. Because the rain stopped almost immediately, you decided to stay the additional 2 nights. We did refund 1 night of the 3 night stay due to the inconvenience. We did not refund the full stay because you decided to stay the additional 2 nights.
We never want anything like a leak to impact a guest's stay, and we take action upon notification of any issue or inconvenience of something like a leak, an appliance malfuntion, a drain clog, etc, but we cannot guess when something like a leak will happen. We did not lie to you - your charactarization of our response and refund is a lie. Your wrote your review on March 22nd, well after you were notified the refund was issued through VRBO on March 17th.
We are a property management team who works diligently every day on behalf of our guests AND our owners. After 11 years managing multiple vacation rentals at Cape San Blas, we have proven time and again, that we not only respond, but are also truthful and trustworthy.
