Beautiful 1.5 Acre property with luxury home on Little Lake Weir that connects to Big Lake Weir by way of a canal. New upgrades to the home in 2020: Brand new wood deck, fresh interior paint and outdoor furniture added. This quaint and homey lake house has a Kokomo style beach front and cottage house feel and includes use of 4 Kayaks. One of the larger sand beaches on Lake Weir with 167' of prime beautiful beach frontage, 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths. The Owner's suite has direct access to the private hot tub overlooking the lake. Private boat launch area is on premises where you can launch your boat or jet ski. The 140 ft. dock features a large covered activity area with a sofa bed swing, pub table & chairs and a refrigerator for your drinks (The BEST seat in the house!). The Chef's Kitchen is very large and luxurious "Tuscan style", with warm smoky tones. There's plenty of space for a large family and lots of cooking. The kitchen and living room each have glass double French doors that open up to the wooden deck and flagstone patio, spanning the entire back of the house. There's a charcoal grill & a Weber gas grill on the patio. There are multiple outdoor table settings for lounging and watching the sunsets. Volleyball, bean bag toss,& ping pong are on site for your outdoor activities. The glassy lake is great for your skiing and wake-boarding enthusiasts. Check out the photo of the 8 lb. Large Mouth Bass caught from our dock! Enjoy a relaxing and peaceful vacation on Little Lake Weir and for a change of scenery; a short 1/2 mile boat ride through the canal to Big Lake Weir or 5 minutes by car to visit County parks / beaches, Gator Joe's restaurant, Eaton's Beach Sand Bar and Grill. This is also a great lake to bring your sailboat!
This is an amazing property for your group event: Company picnic, Graduation Party, Birthday Party, Wedding, Baby Shower, Family Reunion or Christmas Party for an additional cost. Parking of up to 40 vehicles on site!

We had a lovely time at this lake home. The property is quiet and the perfect place to relax and get away from our busy life. The home is beautiful! We spent our days on the docks and beach, and our evenings inside playing games. Thank you for a lovely week of much needed rest!

Spring break getaway

This house is well appointed with everything. The outdoor space offers so many activities; you could have a great trip without ever leaving the properties. The owners are very helpful and responsive. We would definitely recommend this house.

The house is absolutely gorgeous- there is nothing more I could have asked for. The owners were extremely responsive when I let them know the hot tub was full of sand and leaves from prior renters. They sent someone out right away and clean and refill it. We didn’t get to use it bc it was still cold when we left, but it looks like the perfect relaxation spot. There were tons of chairs and chaises to sit on the beach, and drink coffee in the morning and wine at night. Kids and adults loved the kayaks, ping pong table and board games. Again, this house is perfect- truly luxurious! When I “grow up”, I would love a house just like this!

Amazing Holiday Break

I cannot give this rental enough stars! The owners were beyond wonderful to work with. The pictures do not do this place justice. It was the perfect place to rent for our vow renewal. The deck was the perfect place to entertain guests. The sunsets were just gorgeous! The beds were so comfortable! I've never rented a place and have been able to say that! You wont be sorry if you rent this home!

Awesome Retirement Celebration House

This house is beautiful and is perfect for an event. We had my husband's retirement celebration with around 25-30 people and it was the perfect location. The kitchen is beautiful and great for laying out all the food for the event. The back yard, view and activities available were awesome. Some of our guests are talking about renting in the future. We spent the rest of the week relaxing, boating and fishing (caught some amazing bass). Everything was as advertised.

Beautiful house!

The lake house was renovated by the owners extensively & beautifully! My husband & I stayed for a week. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings & spent much time on the deck and on the beach watching the sunrise & sunset which were really beautiful. We kept taking pics w/our phones trying to outdo one another. My husband is using one of the photos as his screensaver. The kitchen-- wow--I want it! We really did not experience any problems that we read about in past reviews. The neighbors in homes surrounding the lake were not intrusive or noisy. Endless hot water & huge walking showers. I liked the brickwork and arches inside (and did I mention the awesome kitchen?) The road to the house is not paved but do not be discouraged--you'll forget about that little thing when you arrive at the house. The first day there, my husband posted a video tour inside and out and titled it "This is living!". Thank you so much David & Darlene for sharing your house! We loved it!

This is our 2nd time visiting this lake house. We absolutely love it. The kitchen is huge and so functional for a big crowd. Everything is well stocked. No need to leave to go anywhere. So peaceful and just a nice place to get away and relax. Enjoy the beautiful lake with the beach entrance (which our dogs LOVED) , go kayaking, grill some food... Highly Recommend!

We stayed here for 4/days and 4/nights. This lake house was perfect for our family get together. The private beach was perfect for us so we were not all stuck inside. The dock with a huge swing is where most of the days were spent. We brought our own jet skis and boat so docking was perfect for us. With 3 bedroom(5 beds) and 2 couches it slept our family of 10 perfect. Kitchen is a dream kitchen that hosted all our breakfast/lunch/dinner gatherings. We will definitely be planning a trip again here next year.

Gorgeous house and grounds!

Everything about this house exceeded our expectations! It was roomy enough for me and my 5 grown children. The kitchen is well stocked, house was meticulous and the views from everywhere inside were amazing. We enjoyed kayaking and fishing everyday we were there.

Comfortable lake front retreat

The home was gorgeous and offered all of the creature comforts we could have needed for our family, and the outdoor space was just perfect! Our teens especially loved the outdoor ping pong table, kayaks, spa, sandy beach (complete with hammock and lounge chairs!), and the sand volleyball court by the water! The dock adjacent to the boat house was a convenient place to tie up our ski boat when we weren’t out on the lake. My husband enjoyed fishing from the dock, and the boathouse swing became my favorite place to enjoy my cup of coffee each morning while watching the sun rise and the wildlife start their day. If you have a larger boat (like our 23’ ski boat), you’ll likely have to navigate the dirt road leading to the house cautiously due to two 90 degree turns and a few areas which were washed out, and the boat ramp at the house may not accommodate heavier vessels like ours, however, Carney Island is right around the corner and was a convenient launch point and a relatively short (and beautifully scenic!) trip back to Little Lake Weir through the canal. I would definitely recommend this home for anyone looking for a lakeside getaway!

Seclusion and Relaxation

Nice property off the main roads that is quiet and well equipped for a pleasant and relaxing stay. Kitchen is well equipped and there and plenty of board games, fishing poles and kayaks available. The porch swing on the dock is great for enjoying the lake and birds. The hot tub is great for cooler nights. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again for a week or weekend.

Wonderful dream lake house

We had been travelling throughout Florida staying and different properties that we had pre-booked and most were just not up to parr, we booked this last minute for the last 5 days of our stay and we just did not want leave ! The position, property, facilities and home comforts were 10/10. We will definitely return but definitely stay longer!!

Hi!... We are The Taylor's.... David & Darlene. As a boy David first came to the Lake Weir area in 1978, and lived and grew up on Little Lake Weir. The Taylor Lake House used to be Dave and Darlene Taylor's personal residence from 2007 - 2011. We love Lake Weir and still block time for ourselves to enjoy this lovely place.

Why they chose this property

The home was originally built in 1947 and underwent an EXTREME renovation that rivals home renovations seen on TV. No expense was spared on the gourmet kitchen with built in appliances and gourmet 6 burner gas cook top stove.
The flagstone patio and wood deck and outdoor dining & pub tables are perfect for lounging and gathering for cocktails and snacks at sunset.

What makes this property unique

The activity area at the end of the dock is the BEST place to hang out! It is an outdoor living area you won't want to leave! Four Kayaks are included in the rental. Ping pong table, volleyball net and corn hole on site. This 1.5 acre property is a premium waterfront luxury cottage house. The beach is twice the size of the overage on the lake and is a well maintained white sand beach, ideal for swimming and lounging in the water. This Lake House is ideal for any event.. Weddings, Reunions, Graduation Party, Baby Shower, Company Picnics for up to 80 people. Ample parking on site for 30 vehicles. (additional cost for group events. Please ask)
