Monthly stays (30+ nights) ✧ ideal for remote work, traveling nurses, and snowbirds, 20 min from Ko Olina.

✦ About the Space ✦

Mākaha Noir is a freshly renovated beachfront condo perched on the second floor, directly above the golden sands of Papaoneone Beach on O'ahu's peaceful west side ✧ Guest favorite with a perfect 5.0 rating across every single stay on all platforms. Far from the tourist crowds of Waikiki, this is an authentic slice of Hawaiian paradise where comfort meets serenity and every day begins and ends with the sound of ocean waves.

This space was designed for people who appreciate the details and want more than just a place to sleep. Every finish, every piece of tech, and every amenity has been chosen with intention.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✦ What You'll Love ✦

✧ Unbeatable Location ✧ Step right onto the sand in seconds from your second-floor unit. The beach is literally your backyard. No roads to cross, no long walks. Just sand, ocean, and sky.

✧ Private Lanai ✧ Slide open the bedroom door and step onto your own private balcony with uninterrupted ocean views. Morning coffee with the sunrise, evening wine with the sunset. This is where you'll spend most of your time.

✧ Panoramic Views ✧ Sweeping 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean and the lush Waianae mountain range. On clear days, you can see for miles down the coastline. On clear nights, you can watch the moon set over the ocean ✧ something most people never get to experience.

✧ Stunning Sunsets ✧ The west side of O'ahu is famous for its sunsets, and this condo has front-row seats. The sky turns gold, pink, and purple almost every evening. It never gets old.

✧ Wildlife ✧ Turtles, dolphins, and whales are spotted regularly right from the shore and from your lanai. Humpback whale season runs roughly December through April, and they're often visible without binoculars.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✦ The Bedroom ✦

✧ California King bed with a BedJet climate control system built right into the sheets. It blows cool or warm air directly under the covers so you can dial in the exact temperature you want for sleep, year-round.

✧ The bed sits next to the lanai with three full sliding glass panels that open all the way. When they're open, there's just a 4-foot doorframe on the left and nothing else between you and the ocean. It feels like you're sleeping outdoors.

✧ Sheets are Cariloha bamboo ✧ softer than cotton and naturally temperature-regulating.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✦ Living Space ✦

✧ Feathers sofa, deep and comfortable enough to lounge on all day.

✧ 65" 4K OLED LG Smart TV with Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Apple TV+, and HBO Max available.

✧ Sonos sound system wired throughout the entire condo for music in every room.

✧ Philips Hue smart lighting controlled from a central iPad hub. Set the mood from the couch without getting up.

✧ The vibe in here at night with the lights dimmed and the ocean breeze coming through is hard to beat.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✦ Kitchen ✦

✧ Full-sized appliances including refrigerator, stove, oven, and microwave.

✧ Air fryer, blender, ice cream maker, coffee maker, and all the cooking basics.

✧ Dishes, silverware, and glassware fully stocked.

✧ The dining area faces the ocean, so every meal comes with a view.

✧ For longer stays, having a real kitchen makes a huge difference.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✦ Bathroom ✦

✧ Modern fixtures, walk-in shower, and a bidet.

✧ Clean, bright, and recently updated with new tile and hardware.

✧ Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap provided.

✧ Fresh towels are Cariloha bamboo, same as the sheets.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✧ Multiple Dyson tower fans for cool, clean air circulation.

✧ iPad smart hub controls lighting, music, and more from one spot.

✧ Dedicated workspace with good natural light and a rock-solid connection. If you work remotely, this setup handles it ✧ many guests have worked full weeks from here.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✦ Building & Outdoor ✦

✧ Free parking on-site with a designated spot.

✧ On-site coin laundry in the building.

✧ Shared BBQ area steps from the water, perfect for grilling fresh fish from the harbor or steaks from the store.

✧ Beach essentials provided: towels, chairs, umbrellas, and a boogie board. You don't have to buy or rent any of that.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✦ Monthly Stays (30+ Nights) ✦

This home is built for monthly living, and it's priced for it ✧ a monthly discount is built into the rate. It's a favorite setup for remote workers, traveling nurses, military in transition, snowbirds, and locals between homes. All utilities, 333 Mbps WiFi, and parking are included. Honolulu County requires a 30-night minimum in this area, which means no weekend party turnover ✧ just quiet residential neighbors and guests settling in like locals.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✦ Nature & Adventure ✦

✧ Mauna Lahilahi Trail ✧ A short walk from the property with one of the best coastal views on the island.

✧ Whales, Dolphins & Sea Turtles ✧ Frequently spotted from the beach or your lanai. Humpback season (December through April) is especially incredible.

✧ Yokohama Bay & Ka'ena Point ✧ About 15 minutes north. Ka'ena Point is the westernmost tip of O'ahu and feels like the edge of the world. Wild, untouched, and stunning.

✧ Pink Pillbox Hike & Lava Tubes ✧ Close by with jaw-dropping views of the coastline.

✧ Secret Beaches ✧ Hidden stretches of sand along the coast with seashells, coral, and almost no one else around.

✧ Waianae Boat Harbor ✧ 5 minutes away with dolphin cruises, sunset sails, snorkeling tours, and fishing charters.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✦ Nearby Attractions ✦

✧ Makaha Beach (2 min drive) ✧ One of Hawaii's most iconic surf breaks. Calm and swimmable in summer, massive waves in winter.

✧ Ko Olina Resort (20 min south) ✧ Home to Disney Aulani, Four Seasons, lagoon beaches, restaurants, and shops.

✧ Beach House by 604 ✧ The best oceanfront restaurant on the west side. Great food, great drinks, right on the water.

✧ Local Food ✧ Poke bowls, plate lunches, malasadas, shave ice, and fresh seafood all within a short drive. Weekly farmers markets with local produce and goods.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✦ The West Side, Honestly ✦

This is the real Hawaii ✧ local, uncrowded, and stunningly beautiful. It's about 45–60 minutes from Waikiki and the airport, and that distance is exactly what keeps it this way. You'll eat at local spots instead of tourist traps, share the beach with sea turtles instead of crowds, and see a side of O'ahu most visitors never do. The building is a small, quiet, secure residential complex with free on-site parking, and I've never had a guest issue in 4 years of hosting. Like anywhere, use normal city common sense with valuables. Guests who book the west side deliberately tend to say it was the best decision of their trip ✧ several of my reviewers have.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✦ A Day in the Life ✦

Wake up to the sound of waves. Make coffee and take it out to the lanai. Watch the ocean while the sun comes up. Head down to the beach for a morning swim or walk along the shore. Come back, rinse off, and get some work done at the desk with the WiFi and the ocean breeze. Grab lunch at a local spot or cook something fresh. Afternoon on the beach with the chairs and umbrella we provide. Late afternoon, fire up the BBQ or head to Beach House by 604 for sunset drinks. Come home, turn on the Hue lights, put on some music through the Sonos, and watch the stars from the lanai. Fall asleep in the California King with the BedJet set to your perfect temperature and the sound of waves outside.

That's not a vacation fantasy. That's a Tuesday here.

About the host

Host profile image

Aloha, I'm Will! I'm a Superhost with a perfect 5.0 rating across every stay, a renovation designer, and a proud West O'ahu local. I didn't just buy these beachfront condos, I personally renovated them myself, choosing every finish, every piece of tech, and every detail with intention. The result is a blend of modern luxury and island comfort you won't find anywhere else on this coast: California King beds with BedJet climate sleep systems, Cariloha bamboo sheets, Sonos sound, Philips Hue lighting, and 333+ Mbps ↓ fast WiFi, all steps from the sand.

I host because I genuinely love sharing this side of O'ahu. Most visitors never make it past Waikiki, and they're missing the best part. The west side is the real Hawaii: uncrowded beaches, sea turtles at your feet, the island's best sunsets, and a local community that still feels like old Hawaii. I live minutes away, I respond within the hour, and I treat guests like neighbors, not bookings. My favorite part of hosting is handing over my personal map of the west side, the poke spots, hidden beaches, and trails I'd take my own family to, and hearing back that it made the trip.

Whether you're here for remote work, a romantic escape, or to slow down and live the island life for a month, my goal is simple: you leave feeling like you lived here, not just visited.

Why they chose this property

I chose West O'ahu because it's the Hawaii that locals actually live in, and the one most visitors never get to see. While Waikiki packs thousands of tourists onto a few blocks of sand, the Waianae Coast stretches out quiet and uncrowded, with some of the most beautiful beaches on the island and not a resort wristband in sight. Papaoneone Beach, right outside the door, is the kind of place where you might share the shoreline with a handful of people and a sea turtle on a busy day.

The scene here is authentic and unhurried. Mornings start with fishermen heading out of Waianae Boat Harbor and locals walking the sand with their coffee. The Waianae mountain range rises green and dramatic behind the coast, and because the west side faces the setting sun, every single evening ends with a sky that turns gold, pink, and purple over the ocean. From December through April, humpback whales breach offshore, often visible from the lanai without binoculars. Turtles and dolphins are year-round regulars.

What I enjoy most is the honesty of it. This is a real neighborhood with real local food, poke bowls, plate lunches, malasadas, farmers markets, not tourist versions of them. Ko Olina's lagoons and Disney Aulani are 20 minutes away when you want resort polish, and Ka'ena Point, the wild westernmost tip of the island, is 15 minutes north when you want to feel like you're standing at the edge of the world. Guests who book the west side deliberately tend to tell me it was the best decision of their trip. After 4 years of hosting here, I understand why.

What makes this property unique

Three things make this property genuinely hard to find anywhere else on O'ahu: the location, the renovation, and the hosting.

The location is the rarest. This is a true beachfront, second-floor condo directly above the sand of Papaoneone Beach, one of the most secluded beaches on the island. There are no roads to cross and no crowds to navigate. The bedroom's three sliding glass panels open fully, so there's nothing between you and the Pacific but the lanai. You fall asleep to the waves and wake up to 180-degree views of the ocean and the Waianae mountains. Most "beachfront" listings in Hawaii are across the street from the beach or in a large resort complex. This one is on the sand.

The renovation is personal. I'm a renovation designer, and I rebuilt this condo myself with details most rentals never consider: a California King bed with a BedJet 2 climate sleep system that blows cool or warm air under the covers, Cariloha bamboo sheets and towels, a Sonos sound system wired throughout, Philips Hue smart lighting controlled from an iPad hub, a 65-inch 4K OLED LG HDTV with every major streaming service available, a full kitchen with an air fryer and ice cream maker, and a bathroom with a bidet and walk-in shower. For remote workers, there's a dedicated workspace and lightning fast WiFi, fast enough for back-to-back video calls all day.

The hosting is the difference guests mention most in reviews. I live minutes away, respond within the hour, and share the local intel that turns a stay into an experience: which mornings are calmest for a swim, where the turtles rest, the poke spot worth the drive. Beach gear, towels, chairs, umbrellas, and a boogie board are all included. This is set up for monthly stays, with utilities, WiFi, and parking all in the rate, and it's priced for guests who want to actually live the island life, not just photograph it.
