Sleeping up to 10 guests comfortably, this spacious and beautifully appointed getaway is the perfect spot for families or groups seeking both adventure and relaxation.

Just a short walk or quick dune drive to the beach, this unique home offers guests the experience of one of OBX’s most unforgettable sights — the wild horses that roam freely through the area and often visit the front yard! Imagine sipping your morning coffee or evening cocktail on one of the multiple ocean breeze decks, taking in the peaceful sounds of the surf and watching these majestic animals wander by.

Important Access Info – 4WD Vehicle Required

Our property is located in an exclusive 4x4 access-only area, which means you must have a true four-wheel-drive (4x4) vehicle to reach the home. Regular cars, minivans, or all-wheel-drive (AWD) vehicles will not be able to access this area safely due to deep sand and unpaved beach roads.

Please plan ahead to ensure you have a proper 4x4 vehicle for your stay. If you’re flying in or renting a car, be sure to request a 4x4 SUV or truck (not AWD). Many guests choose to rent from companies that specialize in Outer Banks 4x4 rentals.

This was such a fun trip! It was perfect for an ultimate beach getaway and the house was absolutely gorgeous with beautiful finishes. We saw 11 wild horses during our 4-night stay- what an experience!

We had the best stay here during our time in OBX! The house was lovely and everything felt fresh and new. The kitchen and living room were the perfect place for entertaining and beyond cozy. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect for adults and couples. We loved all the different decks and outdoor seating areas. The hot tub was an awesome bonus! Perfect distance to the beach and easy to get to. Loved seeing the canal as we drove. We will be back again next year!

We loved our stay at Grey's Digger! We could walk to the beach but preferred to drive so we could carry all necessary items for the day! There were an abundance of things to do around the area. Every day we saw the horses walking along the ocean. We will definitely be back

This is a beautiful house. Brand new construction and very nice inside. The hot tub is also a pleasant surprise. The house is rather remote. Recommend that you have all of the groceries you need. It is about a 3 to 5 minute drive over the dunes to the beach. We saw wild horses and deer in the yard.

We had an amazing time, this house was clean, gorgeous inside and out and overall a wonderful experience. You can see the ocean from the back patio. The house has king size beds in every room and what felt like a queen size bunk bed that our kids absolutely loved. I can’t say enough about how clean it was and how beautifully it was decorated. The house came with beach supplies- chairs, yeti cooler etc. overall an amazing experience, and of course you can’t forget the horses. They were in our front or backyard almost everyday!

The house was very clean. The kitchen had all the necessary items, including a grill on the deck right off the kitchen. They provided toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, dish washer pods and laundry detergent. These items were very much appreciated. The house was decorated nicely and the beds were very comfortable. The drive to the beach was very short, making it easy to come back during the day as needed. The outside shower was perfect for rinsing off the sand when returning from the beach. We saw horses in the front yard and on the beach. Overall it was a great trip for our family!
