Expected a king bed studio steps from the ocean in the hotel pictured but were surprised to pull into the parking lot of a motel complex, not even on the ocean side. The building pictured is across the street on ocean is also part of the complex. Check in was easy and attendant very pleasant. Was surprised to be given a key to room on the second floor overlooking the pool in the motel. Shocked to find the smoking area was outside our door. Went inside to find an apartment with a queen bed. My partner and I are heavier which is why I booked a king bed. Went back to the desk to show my confirmation and the picture of what I was expecting and ask where was the room I booked? She looked in the system to try to find something but they “were full” and she’d leave a note for the manager. Next day didn’t hear from him, so stopped at desk in afternoon to ask if we had been switched. New rep looked and then called manager and got permission to move us to king studio. When I asked if it was in building across the street oceanside, was told No, new room is on the other side of pool were we were. Told her it didn’t make sense to move for one night if we weren’t going to be ocean side, so just stayed in the first room. In bathroom, black gunk behind bar in the shower, no facecloths, no bath mat for tile floor (dangerous). The best part of this facility was definietly the front desk people who were very friendly and tried to be helpful.
