This place was adorable and very homey. The house best accommodates 2-3 people. The location is close to everything. Only downside to the location is being close to active train tracks. Also be extra aware that the second bathroom is not connected to the house. Visiting in late December it was very cold to access. This would not stop us from renting this place again however.

Great location. Central to everything I needed and close enough for me to bike or walk almost anywhere. Downtown Main Street is three blocks away. Larger stores about 1 mile away. I biked almost exclusively while there for a month and never felt unsafe or too far from anything. Down the street from a couple parks and courts. I WILL RENT AGAIN if in the area. Great manager was always checking in and updating me as needed.

Since they still have family in town, they couldn’t resist the idea of sharing their small town with their young children as they grow up. They want to keep the home to share the small town experience with others whenever they can.

Why they chose this property

Situated in the heart of historic Downtown Lodi, this home boasts tree-lined streets, parks, restaurants, and a grocery store just a block away. It’s the perfect place to walk to everything you need. Downtown is known for its unique restaurants, wine, beer, and spirit options, with a charming small-town vibe that’s hard to beat. Tasting rooms are just a few blocks away, and you can explore local shops, go antiquing, or catch a show at the Hutchins Street Square Performing Arts Center. There are also plenty of parks to enjoy. If you’re looking for something a bit more active, head to Lodi Lake Park or the nature trail. And if you’re a wine lover, there are over 90 wineries and tasting rooms within a 20-minute radius.

What makes this property unique

The house was built in 1918 and has all of the fine craftsman detail with original hard wood floors, moulding and trims, high ceilings, and friendly porches. Updates have been made over the years to add new windows for light filled comfortable rooms, modern appliances with a working vintage stove and claw foot tub. The spaces and rooms are large but feel cozy with a nice flow from private spaces to common spaces. Enjoy the family room with it’s big 65-inch Smart TV, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room, a primary bedroom with a king-size bed, a second bedroom with a queen-size bed, a full bathroom, and a laundry room. A front porch is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine and view the friendly neighbors out for a walk in their small town. The private backyard is your outdoor paradise: relax with a cup of coffee under the gazebo, swing in the hammock with a good book, gather around the fire pit in the evenings, or grill up some burgers after a day of wine tasting.

The large backyard has several fun and relaxing areas, including a detached carriage house game room, a lawn and garden, a patio with a dining table and lounge seating. The carriage house game room has a second bonus full bathroom, game and bar tables, and a 55-inch Smart TV—perfect for movie nights, teens, or extra hangout space.
