About the host
Hosted by John Hallford
I grew up and spent most of my life in Carrollton, Texas (north Dallas suburb). At the end of August 2021, I moved to Central Florida and spent three years enjoying something different. Though I loved my Florida home, I eventually moved back to Texas to be closer to family who live in Longview. This is how I landed in Kilgore, and I've found a new home, neighborhood friends, and an awesome church. And I'm closer to family in Longview and others in Arlington.
Why they chose this property
This neighborhood offered something I was told was not possible which is privacy and a neighborhood. It has land (8.3 acres) and a community of people. It's a home in the country and in close proximity to others. It truly is the best of both worlds for me. My property is on the corner of the community, so it gives me the ability to enjoy the 8.3 acres I own on the back side of the house and friends and neighbors on the front side. I can sit on the patio and enjoy total privacy, or I can head out the front and hang out with friends.
What makes this property unique
My property is unique in this community as it is on a corner lot. To the west is an open field with an incredible view of the night sky. It provides privacy, but if I want to be with my neighborhood friends, I can head out to the east side of the house, drive the streets in my side-by-side, and meet and talk with other homeowners. This is country living in a community of people.
