Boathouse Cabin on Horseshoe Cove, Cape Rosier, Brooksville, Maine
A charming cabin with a cozy loft sleeping area with a queen size bed. A comfortable space, still a work in progress.Everything you need for cooking, although there are wonderful places to eat out nearby. There's an indoor hot water shower and outhouse , and a wood burning stove for cool evenings.
Just a short walk to our dock and pocket beach on Horseshoe Cove.
Horseshoe Cove, off Penobscot Bay, is described in the Cruising Guide to New England as one of the most beautiful coves on the coast of Maine. Across the road is Holbrook Island Sanctuary with miles of trails to hike. Across the cove is another wildlife refuge to explore. Cape Rosier Road leads to Bakeman's Beach with beautiful views to the stunning islands of Penobscot Bay. Canoes, kayaks, paddleboards and bicycles are available locally to rent. They deliver and pick up at our property.
Acadia National Park is in the area along with many other scenic attractions. In town is the well known Tinder Hearth Bakery with wood-fired pizza, bread and pastries;Bucks Harbor Market with deli and and country store, as well as Bucks Restaurant: and the Bagaduce Lunch, a popular take-out spot on the banks of a reversing tidal falls.
