Optional and miscellaneous items:

Chef fee is $50 per day for up to 5 persons for 3 meals a day. Guests pay for their own groceries. Add $10 per day for each additional person.

Car and motor bike rentals are available at the airports or in town at reasonable costs.

Cost for transportation is $25 each way from Puerto Plata Airport (POP) and $100 each way from Santiago airport (STI).

On call drivers can be arranged.

For many activities you can simply walk to the beach or ask one of our recommended drivers to take you to the desired location.

One of our favorite spots to sun and swim is the beach area near The Waterfront restaurant (10 minute walk) in Sosua. Sosua beach (10 minute walk) is also beautiful and much larger but typically a bit more busy.

Water activities and sports abound in Sosua beach and nearby Cabarete beach (10 minutes away driving). Sosua beach has beautiful natural reefs that you can experience via glass bottom boats, snorkeling or scuba diving. Sosua also offers speed boat rides, towable tubes and fishing excursions. Iguana Mama also has rafting and kayaking adventures but be prepared for a nice ride to the central region of the DR (in Sosua you are on the north coast). A zip line and monkey jungle excursion in El Choco is 20 minutes away.
