This property is in a beautiful location, with gorgeous views and a lovely big pool (though, as expected, it’s very cold water in May so bring wetsuits if you wish to swim).
However, we were a large group with four 3 year olds and we found the house and grounds quite scary in parts with steep slopes, lots of external sharp stone stairways with no rails and sheer drops with no rails in places. Our 3 year old son also found a rusty scalpel blade and multiple old nails around the house and balcony.
The house interior was a little dated but was very well maintained and clean, however the beds were really uncomfortable and at times the water was luke warm and on one occasion didn’t work at all. The kitchen was very minimally equipped and we had to ask for chopping boards - which were provided very quickly which was great - but we didn’t want to keep pestering for all the items that were actually needed for preparing a decent meal (such as chopping knives, baking trays, plastic glasses and plates for kids and by the pool, dust pan and brush, drying rack, a larger toaster, extra plug sockets as there’s only one, and plenty of varied utensils). We made do but it wasn’t ideal.
This house is possibly best suited to a group of 20-somethings with no children who intend to eat out most nights, or older families if they upgrade the mattresses and add all the above kitchen bits.
Even with all of the above, the communication with the host was fantastic and she really helped fix the serious things when they weren’t working (which was a little more often than I would have liked).
All in all, we had a lovely holiday with lots of gorgeous beaches to explore in the area - however we wouldn’t go back to this house as the beds were just too uncomfortable and the environment too stressful with small kids.
