This was the perfect place for our family of four during a very meaningful trip back to Michigan. It was my first time back in 17 years and my first time seeing my family in five years, so this stay meant a lot to us. The house gave us a comfortable, welcoming home base to reconnect with family and also spend time catching up with old high school friends.Even though the weather was wet and cold, we still made the most of it—fishing, enjoying the backyard, and spending quality time together. The dock hadn’t been put in yet and we had to postpone our planned bonfire due to the weather, but that just gives us a reason to come back again. The home was cozy, well-suited for a family, and truly the perfect place for us to experience Michigan again. We’re really grateful for the stay and would absolutely recommend it, especially for families visiting the area.
Enjoyed the fishing. Liked the house. Need a new cleaning service. Dirt on and under the furniture. The deck was even dirty.

Thank you for your feedback — we’re glad you enjoyed the fishing and liked the house. We’re sorry to hear that the cleanliness did not meet expectations and have addressed your concerns with our cleaning team. As for the deck, we do our best to keep all outdoor areas clean, but given it is exposed to the elements, some dirt and debris can accumulate quickly between cleanings. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will continue working to maintain a comfortable experience for our guests.
We’ve stayed several years at this property.
The hosts are easy to work with and always available to answer questions. The property is in a perfect location on a beautiful lake. It is a perfect place to stay and create lasting memories with family.
Beautiful home with Fish lake right outside the door. Very clean and comfortable, fully stocked to meet all your needs. Kim was super responsive resolving issues and providing information about the local area. We had a wonderful stay.
Adorable cottage with great amenities! Awesome fishing off the dock. Rented a boat for tubing and explored all 3 lakes daily. Nice size yard in front and back for activities. Willow trees provide great shade on the hot, summer days. Would definitely return and recommend to others. Thanks Kim!
Really the 2 issues we had were that the grate in the grill was totally rusted and unusable. We informed the owner and she said they were unaware and would fix it. she also apologized. The other problem was that the doc was underwater by about 4-6 inches. It isn't really anyones fault and was just due the unusual amount of rain. Otherwise we thourghly enjoyed our stay.

Family Vacation
Our family just returned from a weeks stay (8/4 - 8/11/18). When we first committed to rent the lake house we were a little hesitant because it didn't have any reviews. We were glad we took the leap of faith. As the description stated, it is newly renovated and the owners did a great job. Top of the line appliances & a great comfortable lay out. Kim was great to work with and quick to respond to inquires. She even had a new patio umbrella shipped during our stay to replace the one that was there. Great fishing right off the dock. Bass, blue gill, perch & catfish. We made use of the BBQ & there is a very good restaurant, The Rock, within walking distance of the lake house. We also drove in to Lawton and ate at D Coy Ducks & Big T's. Both were very good. Several wineries nearby. We spent time at Cody Kresta Vineyard in Mattawan then hit Four Winds Casino on the way back to the cottage. A great time was had by all. Hoping our schedules work out for next year. Would definitely stay here again.
Amazing! Everything there available you could thing of to cook with! Patio furniture was so nice! Laundry facilities perfect! TV ‘s in all bedrooms we nice. Wagons were amazing to transport groceries from our cars to cottage. Fun games to play. Wonderful stay. Will be be back! Thank you for sharing your home!
We enjoyed our stay here. We rented a pontoon boat from Apollo Marine. They delivered it to the cottage’s dock. Having the boat made our visit better. We took the channels to the two connecting lakes. All these lakes are nice because they are not overpopulated and busy. There is not a lot of boat traffic and you don’t hear the jet skis motoring all day (like I’ve experienced at other lakes).
Instead of swimming at our cottage’s shore (where it was squishy sand and then past the dock had sea grasses) we anchored out in the lake and swam in the deeper waters.
The cottage was clean and updated. Beds were comfy. There is a charcoal grill outside. There is good WiFi. We watched Netflix during some of the rainy times. They provide both bath and swimming towels.
We had a wonderful family vacation with the grandparents, parents and two babies under the age of two. Kitchen had every imaginable utensil/ gadget. Cottage was beautifully appointed and clean. Beds very comfortable. We brought our motorized canoe and easily stored it at the dock. Caught a few fish from the dock. Communication with owner was excellent through the entire process. Would look d highly recommend this rental.
What a beautiful place! The lakes, Big Rock Restaurant, the family of bald eagles and Kim's home was truly amazing. We took a boat ride and fished every morning from 5:30 AM to 10 am and also went for an evening boat ride. It was a quiet neighborhood and the home was very clean and perfect for what we needed. The grocery store was only 15 minutes away. Kim was so attentive and kind, with any questions we had. Loved this place! Dave R
This was the perfect spot for a family getaway. We all had a great time, especially the kids. The house was the perfect size. It was very clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable. We can’t wait until next time.
This is a wonderful property. We have stayed there 3 years and the owners are wonderful to work with. Updated cabin and very nice beds, furnishings, etc. I highly recommend and we hope to be back for a 4th year.
The property was great for the vacation. Was right on the water and was easy to access with our boat. Would definitely stay again, the kitchen was really nice and the place was updated nicely.
Our week-long stay at Justin and Kim's lake house was fantastic!
The House- The lake house was a comfortable home to spend a week in. Check-in and check-out were easy and there was a small care package of snacks and toiletries waiting for me when I entered the home. Everything worked just fine- the beds were comfortable, the showers were hot, the Smart TVs TV'd, and the Keurig faithfully provided morning coffee. We had no issues with the home during my stay, but Kim and Justin are very responsive and we trust should something have come up, they'd be right on it. The house is right on Big Fish Lake, which makes for some great views of the ducks and swans that call the lake home.
The Area- The house sits on a quiet street, a 3 minute walk (if that) from The Rock Restaurant. Going in mid-March, the surrounding area was incredibly quiet and almost like a ghost town, especially at night- which we loved and really wanted in a getaway coming from the city. The house sits in Marcellus Township, which is about a 14 minute drive from Lawton and 20 minutes from Paw Paw. We found ourselves going into Paw Paw usually when we needed groceries or take out. Some things to check out nearby are the Spirit Spring Sanctuary in Marcellus, Echo Point Shooting Range in the Allegan State Game Area, Garden Griddle restaurant in Paw Paw, and Ruby's Sandwich Shoppe in Paw Paw.
Overall, the stay was great, and we'd definitely recommend Kim and Justin's lake house!
