We had a great stay at La petite Chouette. It is a lovely cottage in a quiet area/street, but with Neuchatel very nearby and plenty of possibilities for hiking and cycling. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Upon a visit they arrange that the guests obtain the Neuchatel tourist card for free, which gives many options to do either for free or with a discount in the region, e.g. visiting of musea and renting of bicycles.
