About this property

New Log Home with Gorgeous Ocean View in Historic Acadian Village

L'Ardoise and surrounding towns abound in wild berries - strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, dewberries - even cranberries and foxberries. Free clam digging is available within five miles. Concerts and Ceilidhs are available in many locations throughout Cape Breton, some featuring the unique brand of Cape Breton fiddle music. Fortress Louisbourg is a world class historic re-enactment of a French Acadian fortress town. The beach in L'Ardoise, in the hamlet of Point Michaud, six miles from us, is 1.5 miles long, considered to be world class in quality. Fishing from shore is available in the 300 meter canal connecting the Atlantic with the Bras d'Or Lakes, about 7 miles from our house. We have a 120 degree view of the Atlantic and the harbour.

In the front yard there is a volleyball/badminton net, quite likely on the ground. Stakes are available with the net, if it needs to be erected, and equipment is in the ping pong room.

A slice of Acadia!
This home is more of a pan-abode style house than a log house and very rustic inside. The rooms are large and perfect for an active family. The location is a little distant from the usual attractions of Cape Breton Island. It's a good idea to ask to have the house aired for 2 days before you arrive.

Excellent place to stay.
Liked the ambience and cleanliness. If Just the outside grass and trees are cleared it would be even more nicer.

Worst place !
We arrived an hour early and and we had asked the owner could we get in early and he said prob not due to him and family staying there and the time it takes to clean but he told me he would leave door open and key on table ..didnt happen i had to track down the cleaning lady to get key ...he told me the lawn was mowed (we stayed there 2 years ago and the grass wasnt mowed )so he lied to me it was not mowed we brought outdoor games couldnt play them ! So ya we stayed there 2 years ago had no issues although house wasnt the cleanest but i didnt say anything. ...so since two years it went down hill the place smelled really bad like especially downstairs smelled "musty" you could see water stains all throughout the house, mold has to be growing there .the house was not cleaned ! We went out and bought bleach tonclean the bathroom it was disgusting! We had to take the first hour to clean the whole house ! everything felt damp!! The bed clothes were damp too and the beds we are pretty sure not changed good thing i brought my own pillow and blanket ! A piece of jewelry was found in a bed there was these weird water bugs throughout the house if u dropped a towel the bugs would be there wen ya picked up mouse poop in the bathroom down stairs and in a bedroom by the dresser .. when we first walked in the coffee table had something sticky all over it the kitchen chairs were all stained ! ...on the 3rd day the cleaning lady came to see if everything was ok she complained abo
