About this property
Waterfront Lake House Log Cabin
The Waterfront Lakehouse Log Cabin at Grand Spruce Lodge is a stunning hand-built log home on Armstrong Lake in Redditt, Ontario, just 20 minutes north of Kenora. Situated on five acres with access to a private sandy beach, this south-facing five-bedroom, two-bath getaway is the perfect retreat for families or couples. The large lake-facing deck and screened room offer the perfect spots to enjoy the breathtaking views, sip morning coffee while listening to the haunting calls of loons, or watch the sunset after a day of swimming and boating. Inside, the main level welcomes you with a cozy rustic log cabin atmosphere, a spacious living room with a wood stove, and a large modern kitchen fully equipped to prepare your favorite meals. This level also features two bedrooms—one with a queen bed and one with a twin-over-double bunk bed—plus a three-piece bath.
Upstairs, you’ll find a large master bedroom with a three-piece bath and a walk-out balcony with panoramic lake views, as well as two additional bedrooms, one with a twin-over-double bunk bed and the other with a double bed. The upstairs also houses a laundry room with everything needed for your convenience. A short walk outside leads you to the private sand beach with crystal-clear water, a partially shaded dock, and a beachside shed for storing your gear.
The property is home to around ten friendly, free-roaming chickens and two sociable Sebastopol geese, which are especially popular with children and add a charming, unique touch to your stay. Guests have full access to the lodge, the beach, and a variety of shared outdoor amenities, including a playground with a swing set, a fire pit, and the well-stocked Lakeside Shed filled with beach toys, pool noodles, life jackets, goggles, and a pump for inflatables. Water activities include a kayak, canoe, paddleboard, badminton gear, picnic tables by the water, a water trampoline, a solar-powered water slide, and a large floating water pad. While the dock and beach are shared with two other rental cabins and the owner’s family, there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy comfortably.
The water supply is drawn from the lake and is safe to drink, thanks to a three-stage filtration system combined with a UV light purification unit that eliminates 99.99% of bacteria. All water and beach amenities are used at your own risk, as there is no lifeguard on duty. The owner may occasionally be on-site for maintenance, working in the garage, or spending time at the beach or dock with family. Located on a quiet dead-end road with only a few neighboring cabins, this lakeside escape offers peace and privacy, yet is easy to reach—just follow Highway 17A from Kenora, turn north on Highway 658 for 25 km (about 18 minutes), then right on Lambert Street, and right again on Second Avenue South. Whether you are looking to swim, fish, paddle, or simply relax by the water, The Waterfront Lakehouse Log Cabin offers a perfect blend of rustic charm, comfort, and lakeside adventure.
